which do you think is better: ripper or sonic? i think the sonic looks really nice, but does it have easy to reach set screws like the ripper?

i personally like the ripper better . . .

Doesn't really matter, just depends if you like the blade style trigger or not. Ripper is cheaper, and comes with blade, so i'd get that.

what do you think about the sonic frame emulating the angel trigger? any better than the ripper for this reason? thanks!

you could set the trigger just like an angel on the sonic, i don't see why you'd want to though, you can set it just how you like it, not copy the angel. the sonic is a nice frame, very well made and imho very much worth the money, soooo much better than the stock frame. but if you like the ripper go ahead, your choice, i made mine.

Ripper all the way, I do not regret putting one on mine.

Pretty much the same as a ripper, but no blade trigger.

Macdev will probably release a blade style trigger in the near future.

thanks allo.
you know how the timmy trigger feels like? the click of the microswitch is much more pronounced and reactive in comparison to the stock bushy trigger. would you say that the sonic or ripper trigger feels like a timmy trigger (much like a mouse click)?
sorry if that was a little confusing, thanks

both triggers could do that, that has to do with the tension.

pretty much the only difference in the set screws is that the sonic has all 3 in a row in the place they are on the stock trigger.
i'm pretty sure the ripper has it vertically on top of the trigger.
in the end it comes down to if you like the blade, and if you'll part w/ your sticky grips.
personally i like the sonic a bit more. it's only around 10 or so $ more expensive, and i hear they are coming out with a bunch of replacement trigger designs, so hopefully i'll find one under the tree come christmas morning. :D

thanks simon,
appreciate the help. how come i'll have to part with the dye stickies if i opt to go with the ripper frame? or is it the sonic frame that doesn't fit the stickies?

he must mean the sonic ,because the ripper was built for stickies

i see. the shape of the sonic is too square to fit stickies. i don't see a full review of it on obdo though.

There's a review of the Sonic. MacDev takes a really long time to get anything off the drawing board, so if you like the blade style, get the ripper, because you might have to wait a while before they apply any machining. Kinda like how matrix owners were promised their bolt kits. Just 2 months.......... and yeah, but only if you take on another 3 months.

the only thing i see on obdo regarding the sonic frame is a brief description of it with a pic. where's the full review?
