custom milling

hey, i read on a impulse thread somewhere about this guy custom milling his impules... well, i kinda want to know how to do it so i can do it to my bushmaster. If you know how to do it please tell me.

Well if you dont know how to mill then it is a task better left to someone that does know how to.

I am not trying to be rude I am simply stating the facts.


Several people have made designs and modified the bodies of their markers with simply hand tools and this is probably more likely what a normal player would be able to use. Milling is a very precise and painstaking event when you know what you are doing let alone when you know nothing about it.

if you want to have your gun custom milled, there are ppl you can send it to who can do it. It isnt cheap though.

Dont try to do it yourself unless you really know what you're doing. If you want a quality milling job, it is best to leave it to the professionals.

good start so far, I can kinda see where its going I think. Nice weight saving milling in between the top and bottom tubes, its cool when gun bodies have that cut out. still a ways to go though.

Travis, from what I remember your last custom body looked pretty rough at first but turned out damn noice :cool: . You have any finished pics of that body anno'd and reassembled? BTW, my QD isn't here yet?:confused: did you write down my address right on the envelope? I think the mailman keeps stealing my paintball mail. If he so much as touches the Longbow that will be arriving later this week there'll be hell to pay :pissed:

And Yoda. You know the rules. As soon as the milling is done, that Bushy is going straight in the pic thread.

I was saying that because Yoda got ride of his GS for this new custom milled marker and that one was looking very plain. The milling doesnt look rough it just looks plain.

Man me and the mail man are going to go round and round.
I will send another one out today.

The GS was sold for financial reasons, it sucked but had to be done, got an offer that i felt was fair and i took it. Down the line I may look into another one but right now i must wait for this one to be completed. Life goes on

Show them the top yoda :). I think the milling right around the barrel threading looks real nice.

The only thing that concerns me about the milling is the window below the feed neck. I wonder if it is to close to valve opening??? Will this cause any problems like blow back etc.... That is the only thing I see in the milling that I am a little concerned about.

Yeah, I know that's not what you're saying, I was just pointing out it was nice. I believe there is more to be milled before completion also.

I almost had enough to get a freestyle that past wekk, but real life happens and now we are back to square one.
