My Problem....

My birthday came, and I was hoping with the money that I got, I would be able to purchase a Tippmann 98, Tank and a Hopper. But it seems that I wouldn't have enough to purchase the Marker with the Hopper and Tank, so I was wondering if I should just go with a Spyder Xtra (have shot it, and like it alot)? I like both markers... But do you think I should wait for the 98, or go with the Xtra?

i never did like tipmans. they are loud and kick a lot. Go for the spyder. I started w/one and there are a lot more/cheaper/better upgrades.

Get the spyder, they are cheaper and in my opinion better starting markers. Basically if you plan to advance and get a better marker get a spyder and learn to maintain it. If you plan to play only woodsball and stick with the first gun you get for the rest of your paintball career than get the 98 and you won't have to worry about maintaining it since it's indestructible.

I now have the Spyder Xtra. I haven't gotten to shoot it yet, but god does it look good. It should be called the seXtra. I can't wait to get to shoot it tomorrow... Oh no, I drank a Tall Caffe Latte and a glass of Coke. It is sitting on my lap right now.

Good choice for the Xtra. My brother owned a 98 until he traded it for an A-5. I found the 98 to be too long for my taste.

I was just outside for 2 hours straight with my Xtra. I have to say, I love it way more than the 98c. It's still a good gun, but this one I like better. I used 1 1/2 hopper fulls out there and damn is it fun. I can actually get speed! I got around 7-9 bps. I know, its slow, but it's much faster than 3 bps with my Zeus. Anyways, I gotta go eat my birthday breakfast!!

remember to be carfull. My best friend jake got shot in the eye. from across the room. when a accidental discharg when we first started to play 2 yrs ago. Hes fine now but he could see out of left eye for 2 weeks. He was in the hospital for a while.

they are bricks, they can't be upgraded, they are clamshell style bodies, they are slow, they chop (and its a pain in the *** to clean afterwards)...and i used to own one...

Or do tippmanns have less of a drop in value when they are resold? (maybe it's just around me)
Good choice, if I were to start over, that's probably what I would have gotten...
