Ok a rifled barrel does not have a smooth bore. meaning the inside. instead there are little grooves or lines cut into the barrel so it makes the ball spin. when the ball is spinning while it comes out it loses speed slower and in turn goes further.

so would i rifled barrel cost more. yes i assume. well why dont all barells com rifled? Are there any side affects that make it undesirable?

hey,
To what I know about firearms "rifling" makes the bullet spin as it comes out of the barrel, which is good since it provides much better accuracy and also used as ballistic marking. But for a round paintball unlike the shape of a bullet...... I think it does nothing in my honest opinion. Uh...I also figure its harder to clean if you break a ball due to the coils.

Actually there arent any real side effects from rifled barrels. MOst ball breaks are due to the gun, not the barrel unless you get stuff in it.

actually at about a lil after the ball starts to drop, the rifled paintball starts to hook to one direction.
this si not true with air rifled barrels, just the armsons

Rifling doesn't do anything, because of the liquid in the paintballs, the ball will not spin once it leaves the barrel.

rifling causes the BULLET to spin and in return due to the centrifugal force keeps stable and on its axis, a PAINTBALL does not work well with riflin as it is round and can spin on a 3rd degree axis which renders rifling useless, also, a 10 inch barrel will shoot just as far as a 16 inch barrel on a paintball gun and they will hav the same amount of accuracy as accuracy is dependent on craftsmanship.
