Well, from what I heard the new Smart parts nerve is great.
You should get it. Even know that it cost a lot its worth your money.

The pin-less .25 bolt is a close bolt. Now having a close bolt is very good. Its going to be more accurate than an open bolt. so, that is a good thing. It also has a newer board that the shocker, but if you go to www.punisherpb.com they put that same board into the shocker. But the board is really great.

Well, right now i don't know any down side or heard any down side about the nerve. You really can coustomize it really that I think at all. So, I think that is a down side.

But if you are looking for performance that is probably that best you can get.

get a shocker with a nerve board only $800 compared to the $1300 you'd pay for a nerve

Im gonna have to disagree with that, yes the new shockers have nerve programming but they are much diffrent guns than people may think...

The Nerve uses the same popular stacked tube, open bolt electropneumatic design that can be found on the following markers: Smart Parts Impulse, WDP Angel, ICD Bushmaster, Bob Long Intimidator, AKALMP Viking, and a few others. There is a piston located behind a valve, and a hammer at the end of the piston. When the marker fires, the hammer moves forward to open the valve, which releases air down the barrel to propel the paintball. When the hammer moves forward, so does the bolt, becuase they are mechanically linked.

The Shocker SFT uses a relatively unique design which involves only one main moving part: the bolt. In brief, the bolt acts as its own valve; what happens is internal air passages inside the bolt (that propel the ball down the barrel) become open when it moves forward, then when it cycles back said passages become closed once again. Similar designs can be found on the following markers: E-Matrix, PGI Mayhem, WM Assault-80.

Thanks to Ydna for the info

Yeah, the shocker maybe less than the nerve but you get the nerve with the max-flo $1100 and that is much better than the shocker.

not being a prick, but the nerve is a open bolt design. its confusing, because the bolt isnt exposed... but, if you watch the Nerve video from Force of Nature. the Smart Parts tech guy also clarifies that. i bought one, brand new turned it on and out of the box, it didnt work. so i havent had the chance to really experience the guns potential, but when you pay over 1,000 bucks for a gun. the friggen thing should work, with little to no adjustments. dye dm5 baby!
