I sure as hell couldn't do that with a spyder. I found a new love! I think I am going to go do some threesome with my wife and my new girlfriend named Imp!

Holy cow, this is a sweet gun! I put Warped Sportz df on it, fired it up, and took out 4 guys at break point, then bunkered two more following with 3 guys long range, during the first round. I think when you get an Imp, you also get a little magical adrenaline dose rush, implented into your brain, or something. I really don't know how to explain it.

Anyways, thanks Kat, thanks Fom, thanks Walt and thanks all the guys on here who helped me pick the sweetest gun. I never had to think about aiming.... just thought about not loosing the "walking dead" count :D

Going to take pics tomorrow and post them, but nothing really fancy on the gun, pretty much standard Vision Imp, but it has some russian lovin' all over it....

Sounds like my first day with the Impulse, Beta. I know EXACTLY what you mean about not being able to do that with a Spyder, and getting that magic rush when you get the Impulse.

Great 'gun choice and even greater choice in letting Fom set it up for you.

Cool, but honestly, "kills?" you didn't kill anybody with it........... i hope......... It makes the sport sound death bent, and degrades the players around you. Think we could maybe shift over to "tagged", or "got?"

Ehh, well...I agreed to calling paintball 'guns "markers" and kills "eliminations"...
But I don't know, I go out to have fun with friends, and we throw around the word "kill" all the time. We don't mean any harm by it, and we're not yelling it out for anyone to hear. I think the way we conduct ourselves at the field is a better influence on the new players, and that's more important than using other words for guns and eliminations. Depends on the situations, I guess, and how you look at it.

that's usually when I'm playing back...if I'm up front I don't say anything. but I'm a loud back player.

when explaining paintball to other people..I call my gun a marker and stay away from any blood curdling screaming and all.

I disagree. Our sport simulates people shooting each other. That is a fact. Calling it a kill does not "degrade" my opponent. It marks my triumph over him. If he was not a good oponent there would be no joy in the kill (winning). The better the oponent the more respect I have for him and the more I enjoy the kill.

Well, it just depends on how you look at it.

If I'm being interviewed by the media...I wouldn't say something like:

"Yeah, I play paintball, you should've seen me yesterday, I got 20 kills with my paintball gun...it's a beast and it scares the little kids. Heh, the little kids...those suckers are easy kills."

In that case, of course I'd call my 'gun a marker, and call kills eliminations and such...

But when I'm playing? With friends? Having fun? I'm not gonna be like "Hey man, nice elimination." "Haha, I eliminated you!" :D

I agree FOM. F@#k political correctness. Call it like it is.

I am proud to simulate our brave soldiers defending us throughout the world. We would not be able to post things like this or live in a free country without guns. Some people think we should be ashamed of our paintball guns and our sport that simulates killing. The military and police all use paintball as part of their training. Do you suppose maybe that's because its a good simulation of firearm combat??(Psst....My team, Firestorm, beat the police SWAT team 7 games in a row in Ocala, FL in 94... :))

If ya gotta lie to them and call it a marker, elimination, etc. you're appeasing the same people that would probably be the first to run in real combat and will probably never play paintball anyway.

I think that when addressing media or the public paintball players need to word their statements wisely. If you go up to some news person and say "oh boy, i got so many kills today. My new gun is so awsome. I only used fifty bullets to kill all those little kids. I even got a head shot on one of them." That is the kind of talk that gives paintball a bad image and could, unfortunately, get this wonderful sport banned in the future.
At fields feel free to scream "two b ast ards at the back left standup, kill those f ers." Go ahead. If people know what you're really talking about then go for it. I know I do all the time.

i catch myself sayin kill sometimes, and i use headshot all the time for gogs but it really doesnt bother me or anyone, i usually say "i shot you" something like that, and at my field we try to keep the cussing down cuz theres alotta young'ns there
