Alright after 2 years of playing paintball, Im possibly getting a new gun for christmas and im looking at B2k4s. My past gun was a piranha and it was horrible. I was looking to get it off of Shores paintball supply. What dropforward/ASA should i get that would keep a good weight balance? what size N2 tank should I get that would be at a good price, or should i just wait a while to get N2 and use my co2 on it? Also I wanted to know how reliable these guns are?

B2K4's are very reliable markers. You would NOT want to run co2 on it. I am truely not even sure you can. IF, thats a big if, then you could run co2 on it, but you would need to get a filter, and a new HPR and an anti-siphon tank.
I would definatly reccomend a HPA tank. I believe that System X makes some that are relativly cheap. They had their regs redesigned on them, so any stories you might hear of them busting or whatever are false now. Just find a HPA tank, most any will do.
On my BKO (which is balanced like the B2K series) has a shocktech drop and shocktech on/off on it. It is like the next ot the longest drop. I like it, but I'm selling it in favor of a unimount. You might want to look at one of those too. Check It Products makes some really nice unimounts. Basically drops are totally a personal taste thing. I've seen people who have really long drops, they love it say it feels balanced to them, I held it and it was so front heavy I was amazed. Others use uni's which felt a lil back heavy. I can tell you the shocktech I have has held up well, and looks really nice! Drops are a preference thing.

Backman pretty well hit it on the head.
Select the gear that feels best in your hands. If you like you marker to be balanced and a drop feels right get a drop, in a UniMount feels right then get it. It is personal opinion.
I would suggest a couple of air systems for you. The ACI BullDog III air system is quite nice and very reliable. The CrossFire air system is another one to consider as well.
If you must run CO2 on the B2K you will , without a doubt, have to install a anti-siphon hose to your CO2 tank. I highly recommend the Palmer Stabalizer to replace your stock reg.
You will want to go with a reg that uses a metal piston for additional heat transfer. This will allow the CO2 to be changed into gas from liquid.
There are other great regs out there but most of them are now coming with delrin pistons. The delrin piston doesnt have the charateristics<sp??? that you would like to see, when using CO2. It doesnt transfer heat as well as aluminum and in turn it will allow a greater amount of liquid to get into the marker. To keep liquid out we want a higher surface area for the liquid CO2 to make contact with. The more area we have the less likely you are to get liquid into the marker.

Would it be better to get a high pressure tank or low pressure tank to start with? and whats the difference?

Hp tanks have an output of 800psi and Lp tanks one of 450psi. Personaly i think it is better to get a high output because if you wana use it on a hp gun you can. www.shootpaint.com has a goood deal on 45ci 45k tanks. I was thinking about one for my b2k, but i will probably settel with a couple 47ci tanks. I have a beastly 72 3k steel tank now, and im startingtto notice it affecting my performance (not being able to move as agile)
In a realated Hpa question, Should my b2k tuned to shoot 230fps get 500 shots to a 47?

In a realated Hpa question, Should my b2k tuned to shoot 230fps get 500 shots to a 47? yep. thats actually some pretty decent efficiency. Its just that its a really small tank that you're using, so you know, not many shots.

Listen to Shootpaint, he knows what he is talking about. If you do run co2, truthfully you would be spending more money to make it run on that than it would to get an HPA tank.

Ok maybe I'm missing something, but are you saying 230 psi? Cause 230fps is pretty low, you could lob em over bunkers better I guess.

another question... I was looking around at different sites, and is shores paintball a good site to purchase it off of? Anyone ever buy anything from them? And does b2k4 come with PDS on solid colors, because most sites ive seen offer the pds with fade b2k4s

I ordered my B2K4 w/ PDS from shorepaintball and they were great. And when I ordered from them you were able to get solid colors with pds installed, and that was like 25 bucks cheaper than the fades.

i think the regs are factory set to be able to run fine with a lp tank without having to readjust? at least thats what it says in the manual i think. so if you get a hp tank u need to do some readjusting with ur reg. im not entirely sure about this since the manual isnt too clear about it but u mite want to think about that.

You will have to adjust the regs no matter what tank you use. This is how you adjust the velocity. It wont make any difference if you use a 800psi tank or a 450 psi tank. Both are going to require the setup of the regs for the marker to function properly.
