dont call yourself a sniper in paintball because it lowers the image of paintball. the media already hates us and to be calling ourselves snipers is not going to help them at all. we need the media to help the sport grow. call yourselves long ballers or just "goons in the back" for all i care just dont call stuff sniper this sniper that bla bla bla.

that is true we alwase call snipers.....nevermind that :goody: but hey it helps nothing to be a "sniper" anywase my advice is just go play hard trust me every newby wants to be a sniper but it is much more fun just to go get shot at :crazy:

i agree. I hate it when ppl. say they are "snipers" and get this gun for it's "long range, perfect for sniping"

i can just picture thor trying to get hit, he probly just goes in the open field and makes himself noticed. then crouches up into a little ball before he gets marked

For the sniper style of play just call yourself a sharpshooter or something. Paintball is not a super long range game anyone whose played enough times realizes that. Being a 'sniper' is more like hiding in the woods and taking shots at targets of opportunity, or sneaking aroud and doing the same thing. It is not the best idea unless you are low on ammo or you have an entire team having a shoot out with the other in a woods game.

People still have a negative image of paintballers. They think we go out in the woods and use "guns" to shoot and "kill" each other. If you could get into the mind of that woman, you would see that she was about to wet her pants. i think that parents are turned off by the idea that one of the main paintball websites is called warpig which gives paintball a bad name. until i could prove warpig.com worthy, my mom set up a block for it!

Ya, I was just gonna say something about that. I saw a tape on Real TV once of a bunch of kids driving around shooting people with a Tippman Carbine. Shot a guy on a bike, people at bus stops, etc...The announcer said something along the lines of, "a bunch of delinquents drove around shooting innocent people with a "very high powered paintball rifle"" or something of the sort...

Made me mad. :pissed:

I saw that on TV too, good thing a police car was right around the corner. Noob, sniper, long baller, economy player, what ever you call them, i am one of them. I have a CCI Phantom w/ 14" nickel plated barrel. accurate and fast with the auto trigger. I like sniping cause its great fun and i dont want to spend $50-$60 a game. There are close up people who shoot 200 rds a game w/ $1200 Angels. There are the basic player- 50 rds a game and try to make most of their shots count. then there is the people who go for 1 shot to the mask 1 elimination style, doing that has a great feel of accomplishment, more than using the "sprey and prey" style. Compare the great feeling to: personally saving someones life and donating money to the fire department for life saving equpiment.

What the big bleeping deal about people giving themselves a tactical class? Sniper, Assult, Recon blah... I mean, if you are going to start farting flames about players calling themselves snipers because it "gives paintball a bad name", then why not start whining about people calling their guns 'guns' instead of markers? Why not translate the entire paintball dictionary? Instead of a barrel, its a paintball guider... Instead of a trigger, its a launching mechanism... Ok, i admit, my point is a little far fetched. But F***ing seriously folks! Its not like you will be playing paintball any less because some uneducated idiots think its dangerous. Fack, I bet golfers get more serious injuries than paintballers do!
