The stock barrel is the barrel that comes with your marker (gun) when you buy it.

Just keep reading these forums, and within 2 months you should know enough to impress anyone you talk to. Vocab though... well here goes

Stock- refers to parts that came with the gun upon purchase. A stock gun usually refers to a gun that has been unmodified. A stock gun can also refer to a pumpgun, with a 10 round tube on top, powered by 12 gram CO2 cartridges

Regulator- Anything that changes the presure on one side of the reg, to a lower pressure on the other side. ie a nitro regulator on a tank. On one side, the pressure is 3000psi, and on the other it's 500.

Bolt- piece of metal that moves back and forth to push a ball forward, and seal off the feed tube. Gas is then released through the bolt to fire the ball

Feed Tube- The tube your paintballs come down through

Hopper, loader, revvy- That big round thing that holds all your paintballs. A revvy refers specifically to a hopper that has a motorized paddle inside of it, to agitate the balls and keep them flowing at high rates of fire

Electro, EP, Electropnuematic- A gun that relies on an electronic trigger, to activate an electronic valve inside the gun for operation

Solenoid valve- A valve that opens and closes electrically, and is signaled by an electronic impulse

Venturi Bolt- A bolt that has multiple holes on the face, rather than just one

Closed Bolt- A gun that before the trigger is fired, the bolt is already forward and the feed tube is sealed off, with a ball in front of the bolt

Open Bolt- A gun, that before fired, the bolt is back, and the feedtube is open. When the trigger is pulled, the bolt slides forward shutting off the feedtube before firing a ball

Blowback- method of guns operation that involves a spring that drives a hammer into a valve. When the hammer hits the valve, it forces it open, releasing gas. Most of this gas is used to fire the ball. The force generated by this gas, forces the hammer back, into a cocked position.

That's some basics, there's alot more to be learned, but my hands hurt from typing

If you overhear somebody calling a gun 'trick' or 'tricked out' it means that the gun has alot of modifications.

The word 'stock' is used for two purposes. If somebody says that their gun is 'stock' it can mean two different things:

#1. Their gun has no modifications done to it, so it is in it's 'stock' factory configuration.

#2. Their paintgun is run by 12gram co2 cartriges, holds no more than 20rounds, is a pump-style 'gun, and is not gravity fed. This type of paintball is classified as stock class. A few examples are the Sheridan PGP's and P68-SC's, Phantom SC's, and Nelspot 007's.

Here's my entire paintball vocabulary:

#1 STOCK: The gun, and all parts, that came in the original packaging upon purchase.

#2 MODIFICATIONS: The addition of any after-market or third party parts/pieces to the Stock gun (see #1).

#3 MONEY: Any currency used to purchase a stock gun (see #1) or Modifications (see #2) for for Stock gun (see #1).

#4 CURSING: The use of vulgar, profane or any other socially unacceptable speech when one of the following happens:
A) The Stock gun (see #1) breaks unexpectedly.
B) A Modification (see #2) breaks unexpectedly.
C) Your Significant other (wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend) finds out how much Money (See #3) you've spent on a Stock gun (see #1), Modification (see #2) or any combination of the two.

about the open/closed bolts, to me that would seem that a closed bolt would chop more balls.

chop balls:the balls do not fall from the feed tube fast enough and the bolt chops the ball in half.

Wow nice offer but no thanx. I have my eye on a model 98 with a flatline barrel. Besides it will be another month so i can get all of what i need because im not only buying a gun but grenades accesories and upgrades for my gun.I have a good mask already but if i get enough cash i might buy another one [better] so if a friend comes over or somthing he can use it along with a talon. ive read countless reviews on 2 different sites and i think im gonna go for it. The cash will be in next month cuz im finally gettin a job (im 15). I also live in canada so shipping might be long. Anyways i aint no newbie with guns though, ive been playing with guns (mostly bb guns) since i was 8 so i have an aim for the trigger and i already got my friend in the head lots. Although the gun your selling sounds good i cant take it, sorry .
