What's good one for cheap.. i hear the Redz Comfor Paqs were expensive. How durable are the pod and do the fall would.. can they take being grinded around while sliding and stuff.

I'd go to my local shop and try one on. I'd ask other guys that have them, see what they think. Your best bet is to hang out at your local field and see what everybody else is wearing, ask them what they like and don't like about theirs!
