Just wanted to see how many people play speedball with a tes, and what experiences you have had with it. does it keep up against high end electros well enough to be competative? I want to see how long I can get by with my tes playing speedball until I have enough money for a new gun.

What is a realistic rate of fire with a stock tes in semi and auto modes? Is the auto mode tourny legal?

^^^ this doesnt make much sense, lol.

You can try to lighten your switch yourself, but I recommend getting a lever switch from radio shack and soldering it in, lever pointing down. If you cant/dont solder, then that pyr8 guy has prewired switches.

Keep your regulator lubed with DOW 33 or 55, your striker oiled, and youll have a sweet shooting gun!

Most people can get 13-14 with their fingers, so with a light trigger pull thats about what youll get with the TES.

Sorry, forgot to answer your question...

I own the speedball field with my TES. Ive played against BKO's, Timmy's, and Angels.... I hold my own against them also. Most of how well you do has to do with how good YOU are. Learn to score eliminations better than the other guy and well.... pretty self expanitory.

I wouldnt do the lever thing. I dont think its tourney legal, and people might think your cheating not in tournys. Just do the switch mod.

Yeah and spyder pride didnt make a whole lot of sense.

LOL why didnt that make a whole lot of sense?

OF COURSE the lever switch is tourney legal! What do you think Angels, Timmys and pretty much all other high end guns have (unless its opto)? The lever switch is the way to go with any e-blowback if you want a light pull and no bounce.

If you do the switch mod, and make it light enough to rip with, there is a good chance that you will bounce like crazy... now thats NOT tourney legal.

Im sorry, and I dont think Im better than anyone else, but I definitely know my stuff. It is of your best interest to listen to what I have to say. If you dont understand something, please ask me to clarify.

100% stock, the TES can only handle around 16bps. Set the cap at 16 untill you up it a bit.

As for speedball, it's around the league of a mid-end mech cocker. It's no timmy, but it's better than quite a few markers.

im not sure if the auto mode is legal, simply becuz its called *auto*. i personally think its legal tho becuz its still one pull one shot. only full auto modes arent legal.

I would say, to go with the switch mod and do the rare earth magnet mod. I have never seen a lever switch on a gun but i guess you could be right.

w/ the switch mod and rare earth magnet mod you wont have any bounce. :D

yes, you will :D. The magnet mod helps to REDUCE bounce, it doesnt eliminate it entirely.

Heres my personal experience with the switch in my TES:

I lightened the stock switch little by little, until it felt light enough to shoot fast with. I took it out on the field and it bounced so much it was like full auto. I did the magnet mod, and it helped very little. I managed to stiffen up the switch a bit, which reduced the bounce a tad, but it was still there. At this point, my pull was NOT light. It felt fairly heavy (1/2 or more of the stock pull) and it still bounced.

With the lever switch, you shouldnt bounce because the effective pull length is longer. This means that the switch is activated at the back of... lets say a 1mm pull, then it resets at the front of that 1mm pull. This means that the kick of the marker is going to have to move your trigger a full 1mm to get another unintentional shot, ie bounce. The internals of this lever switch are close to 250g, so no internal bounce will happen.

My pull with the lever switch from radio shack, which is set up with a bent lever contacting near the top of my trigger, is SOOOO light. I put in magnets just to make it feel crisp. Otherwise, there would be almost no pull weight. It has yet to bounce on me.

somebody said it, and I wanna back it up. Its not the guns that you have to keep up with, its the guys shooting them, that you gotta keep up with, or be better than.
so long as your marker shoots when you want it to, shoots Where you want it to, and has a decent rate of fire, you're good to go.
to reaffirm what I said about it being the player, not the gun- a friend of mine will sometimes play with a Phantom (a PUMP gun) and is Still one of the first chosen for teams, and usually one of the last guys off the field.

edit- oh yeah, and in answer to your questions about the TES, I cant answer um, cause mine hasnt gotten here yet (grrrrrrrrrrrr)

Like i said, i have never tried a lever switch and you have tried both. I have been playing with my mod switch for about 6 months and i have never felt it bounce. I have even recored a tape of me walking and put it in slow motion to check if it was bouncing (made it into a school tech project).

But you have tried both and i have not. I will presume you are probably right, but i really like my mod switch and don't really want to switch to a lever switch.

If your modded button switch is working good for you, then by all means leave it in. Ive heard that a 50g switch may or may not bounce, depending on the gun. Problem is, since ive shot Timmies and Angels, 50g just doesnt feel that light to me. 25g feels about perfect... but most people with a 25g switch on a Spyder-type marker experience a lot of bounce.

If you can get a regular modded switch to work, go with that. Im just saying that the lever switch is light and "fool-proof" when it comes to bounce. Its just another option for those trying to squeeze as much performance out of their blowbacks that they can.:D
