Yup its true, my 98 won't recock for some reason which I cannot explain. Hooked up both my tanks and it had the same effect, in fact when I shot it, I'd loose as much as 300 PSI (From about 850 PSI down to about 350 PSI), the gun did not recock.

Since I couldn't figure out the problem, I took it in to an airsmith and he told me it could be a potential valve problem, I don't know yet as the airsmith has not dug into my 98 yet.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Try taking apart your gun completly, and cleaning it. Can't hurt.

yeah the pin rod is probably not in the bolt or something is jammed in there. take it apart and clean it. that should help a lot.

My friend has had this problem a few times when the screws on the side of the gun were loose or missing.

Model98, I have taken my Model 98 apart a dozen times, that thing can come loose at any moment. Just take it apart, clean it, and you will be all set.

You should take it apart, Oil it up and replace all the o rings.

I highly doubt an O-Ring effects the cocking system. But it would be nice to replace them anyway.

They say you should always replace the orings after 10 games or so because it effects Range.
