OK, this argument was really cluttering up the Tippmann Pic thread, and its obvious its not going to end for awhile, so instead of continuing to spam the thread, i figured just move it out all together.

So here it is, and for those of you just joining in, if you look below you will see the pic and comments evalha07 posted of himself on the Tippy Pic Thread. And below that you will see what others have said in response, as well as his responces:

Camouflage:
The method or result of concealing personnel or equipment from an enemy by making them appear to be part of the natural surroundings.

I'm not sure if you have ever been in the woods or even seen snow before, but no doubt you have noticed that remaining unseen is an advantage in paintball.

"by making them appear to be part of the natural surroundings" By quoting this definition, I am indicating that the "natural surroundings" would be snow and trees which are white and brown, respectively.

Thus, by clothing myself in white and brown clothing I would be less visible (or unseen) thereby giving me an advantage over other players.

There are places where people play paintball where they don't hide behind bales of hay and inflated cones and shoot at each other from 50 feet away.

i think he knows what woodsball is. he's just commenting on how stupid your suit is.

I'd just like to know if he actually tried to get all that crap under a mask.

And sorry, but it looks really dumb.

wow evalha07 since when do the kkk play paintball?

evalha07
LOL

The KKK plays paintball all the time. Always in the snow too.

I feel that function supersedes appearance. For example, drop forwards and double triggers look dumb, but they work well, so who cares? Perhaps it doesn't look as cool as a neon green jumpsuit to the average 11 year old, but it works.

It would seem that the military does not feel that these clothes look dumb, being that all of that stuff is military. BTW the facemask was only for the pic, it wouldn't fit under a mask, and would be too hot if it did.

If you ever get a chance to play in the woods, you may want to learn about camoflage. It is quite effective.

you couldve just gotten some white pants and a white shirt. and i dont think most 11 yr olds like neon green jumpsuits. the military would use that because its a life or death situation, not a game.

I've been an active duty member of the military for 10 years come January, and i still think that you look like an idiot.

Don't try to look like you are some special ops military elite person when you are not.

sorry man.................you look like a ***, im sure it works when you play in the snow but id still rather be seen that walk around like a homo with that sick camo on

When used out of paintball than yes, it is very effective. But in paintball where you can't shoot accuratly at over 150 feet, than no, it will to jack. I live in Massachusetts, and I know full well what snow looks like, as a matter of fact I can see it right now. Not only does that look like ***, but it serves no function other than making you look like someone who has not the faintest clue as to what their doing. Drop forwards do look stupid, and huge ones serve no purpose. I've played alot of woodsball and have evolved onto the speedball field using my "neon green" jumpsuit (uhhh empire tourney pants, blue by the way), and I know my first day walking onto the woodsball field I would laugh my *** off at you. Sorry, re commence pictars.

that looks like a normal flatline.. not a silenced one

evalha07
The flatline is filled with expanding foam insulation. It cuts the sound 30-50%.

I hope he wears a mask over that. If so, then that's some good snow cammo, and I have seen some people use cammoflauge like that in the snow with very good results.

I hope your kidding... Unless the mask is white, its useless, and to attempt to wear a mask over all of that junk would cause major heat buildup in the mask and fog the lens bigtime.

The problem with wearing all white is unless your equipment is all whilte it just makes it all stand out that much more. in order to make your mask and marker not stand out without painting them whilte, your camo must have some contrast in it so that all of it will blend...

After attending Combat Evasion and Survival Training in Fairchild AFB in Washington State in the middle of December you learn about winter camo a little...

That and his mask, i'd totally agree, but the painters mask needs to go.

that camo isn't bad if theres snow on the ground and your not moving. it's no worse than any other camo in the winter. no matter what there is going to be a contrast with the back ground in snow.

So they don't like your camo, you're arguing with people on an internet forum for what purpose? What do you plan to acheive?

Looking at form OVER function you could see why people may laugh or poke fun at your attire.

You'd think you would know what fights to fight and which fights to just not even bother with. This is one of those fights you shouldn't even bother with. But, if you feel it will improve your well being to get the consent and approval on teenagers on an internet forum by stating more information that they don't care about, along with defintions, then be my guest.

Personally I feel someone should always wear proper eye and facial protection for obvious reasons.
