I recently had an X-Board installed in my 9-volt. It does away with the 1 second delay, speeds up the paddle and converts the hopper to 12v.
A word of warning though. The new paddles that they sell with the x-board suck. They look like 5 pronged curved throwing stars. The way they are designed the balls actually get stuck underneath the paddle. Use a 12V paddle if you can get your hands on one. If not, clip off two of the arms on the "cyclone paddle", that will make it work better, not good, but better.
