Hi again, I was just wondering if any of you out there use, or have used, a 47 cubic inch HPA tank with your TES. How long did it hold out before you had to reload? (how many hopper-fulls could you get out?)
yeah, I know that there's some variables, like what pressure you are shooting at, and how fast you are shooting and all.
Basically, I'm looking to get an HPA tank for my TES, instead of going with CO2, but I cant afford a 68" tank like a friend of mine suggested, so am wondering if I can hold out on the field for a while, using a 47" (he says they are kinda small).
I'm looking more for playing rec, and speedball; not really into scenario type.
also if my funds limit me to going to a co2 tank, whats a decent size?

I would skip out on the idea of a 47/3k tank. They only give, on average, about 470 shots. You can get aluminum 68 ci tanks for around 100, and give you about 700 shots.
If you have to stay with co2, I like my 20 oz.

thanks for the input, and the advice clown and kb9wgx; its appreciated. yeah, my buddy told me to go with the 68 tank, but ya know how it is, like to get a second opinion, and all that.
could you point a newbie in the direction of some sites that have them for around 100? all of them that I have been seeing on ebay are for around 125+. (not that I actually have the cash for um right now, cause I'm at my last 50 bucks, but it will give me some places to "window shop" till I've got some more scratch).
thanks again, appreciate all the help that you guys and all the rest give to me, and other newcommers to this game/sport.

You can get aluminum 68/3ks for around 100 at pbgear, paintballgateway, firstcallpaintball, etc.

would it be better to get a 68/3k or a 47/4.5k?

68/3k because most places can't fill to 4.5.

you have to have a special adapter to fit the tank too, to fill it dont ya? I mean, on the compressor, not the bottle itself.

If you get it filled at a paintball proshop, they already have everything set up.

really sorry, I shoulda specified which type of tank that I meant. I was referring to compressed air, not co2. See, the (not so local) paintball proshop is an hour away from where I live, whereas I could get a hpa tank filled by walking half a block up to the gas station. so I was just making sure that when I get an hpa tank, that if I need to, I get the adapter to fit on their compressor at the station.
they've got a nice, BIG compressor up there, it powers their pneumatic car lift :)
