View Full Version : Thoughts on this spam

I've thought about it, and have come to a conclusion, as immature as my actions have been in the past, should be listened to.

Instate a waiting time of 24 hours at the minimum before new members can post. This will deter the random spam attackings, which, as depressing as it is to say, will keep going because teenagers for the most part are not a mature folk.

Who knows why this rivalry has come up, but I'm very sorry that it has.

I understand that instating a waiting time after registering penalizes those who need to ask a question very quickly, but I think in the long run it's better if the younger members are not exposed to the porn the people on the other forums are exposing them to.

also their should be a account deletion period if you have an account older than 1 year and theirs 50 post or less on it , it should be deleted becasue alot of these spammer are just using really old accounts too..

im also mature enough not to go post guys wangs on pbn or any spam

How much do you wanna bet that every spammer that spammed pbr is a late '04er at pbn? Trying to stack up the e-points, eh?

Like spyderman said, I think it would be a good idea if all mods could close/delete threads in OT. This is the second time in a row theat Trumby or Ebon or supers weren't around, but mods that had no power in OT were.

about the 24 hour until you can post in ot idea . . . im not sure thats such a good idea. i thought it would be good at first, but then i realized how much hidden spam there would be in all the other forums. not just ot. but, meh . . . what do i know?

pbreview.com members are not allowed to post more than 15 times in the Off Topic forums in a 24 hour period. This rule exists because excessive posting can slow down the entire website. Since pbreview.com is a paintball website, keeping the paintball parts of the website running fast is our priority. 15 Off Topic posts is far more than anyone should ever need in a 24 hour period, so please don't even think about complaining to us!

has this been the whole time on pbr... or did they do this to stop the spamming

Yeah, and mods should also have tempa-ban powers, because sometimes just deleting the threads isn't enough...
Just an idea.

i've got a good rule: people who respond to spam get warned/banned. seriously, people who post in spam threads just keep the feces floating at the top of the bowl. they should just shut up. in fact, viewing the spam should warrant a warning. too bad we can't track that. it's not like the spam is disguised or anything.

We can delete, however in cases like this we save it for evidence. It just takes longer to save than close. In this case, Turmy is just closing them like a rifle line then saving the more offensive ones. All will be cleaned soon though.

Would it be possible for Andrew to shut PBR down for the evening? This is a huge spam attack and it seems like this is the only way to end it. Maybe he could shut down PBR for the night and give the Admins at PBN a ring or an e-mail with the IP numbers of everyone who spammed it up tonight. ....That's just an extreme solution and probably far-fetched :|

Thanks a million to all the mods for what you've been putting up with tonight. Even though it's just the internet I'm sure it can wear your nerves down so I just wanted to say that we all appreciate what you've been working on. Thanks guys, you're awesome! :)

Well... I think it's FINALLY ended. For now. Some of the spammers threatened to return later in the day/tomorrow. It's going to be a fun week for PBR. :(

Edit: Maggies on now, yay! Let the bannation begin#1

We arn't going to punish others because of a few idiots from PBN.

Just ignore the spam and it'll go away...
