Decent, but not as good as a CP 1 or CP 2 Piece.

If you're not on a budget, get an ultralite or CP kit, otherwise, I'd go for a CP 1 or CP 2 Piece.

Ive played with the Pipe, CP Pro Kit, And the Matchstick. In all honesty the matchstick is best. The Pipe is loud and the some of the CP backs arent the best.

The CP and Matchstik are generally the same barrel. CP manufactures the Matchstik for MacDev.

The CP and Matchstik are generally the same barrel. CP manufactures the Matchstik for MacDev. I thought that for awhile too because of all the rumors about it, but it turns out not to be true. James from MACDev denied it several months ago on the MacDev forum on PBNation.

but performance-wise, I have heard that they are very similar if not the same. Definately two of the best barrel kits you can buy.

You really cant go wrong with CP. MacDev is also great. Dye is great too, but costs a crapload of money and in my experience isnt really any better than CP. J&J makes great barrels too, if you're in the market for a cheap barrel I'd look at either the CP 1-piece or the J&J Ceramic.

REALLY lotus? I got a confirmation from several store owners that it was true, but I guess not. None the less, the Matchstik and CP gave me similar results. Dye barrels are great too, but as you said, quite expensive.

I believe it was true on the first run of the Matchstiks. Remember awhile back they were hard to find because they were comming out with a new version. Since then I believe they moved away from CP.

Since then I believe they moved away from CP. ah, that probly explains it. The original 5-piece Matchstik was probly made by CP, thats why everyone says so now. I know James was talking about the 7-piece Matchstik when he made his statement, so the old Matchstiks were probly made by CP while the new 7-piece ones are not. James said that Macdev makes their own barrels now.
