I'm looking into getting a new gun (low end electro), and after looking around for awhile and sifting through all the spyders and various clones, i've narrowed it down to the mars evo.

I like its looks, I've held it and loved the feel, and it doesn't need many upgrades.

Do you recommend it? And why?

I've read the one review for it on this site (not very satisfying :P). Just wondering if it's a good choice.

I dont own any of the *speedball* line of armotech markers, but the best suggestion I can give you is head over to the forum. (armotech.us/forum) and look in their mars section and look around.

It will give you alot of info plus you will find others that have the same marker and can give you tips and suggestions on what you need vs what you want.

Not many posts? There are over 9 pages of posts in the Mars forum (210 posts).

The site only shows the last 30 days, but you can tell it to show more if you use the bottom show option.

Its all good.

Id rather you learn from your mistake, then not give a good marker a chance..

I know from experiance how the EVO sounds. Iv owned every one of Armotechs speedball markers. and have shot all of them. the EVO is a very nice marker and i loved mine. later sold it b/c speedball wasnt my thing. but as far as speedball markers go... its sounds pretty good even using Co2 ... with Nitro and HPA its quiter ... it defiantly has a differnt sound to it compared to other blowbacks on the field. its a very easy gun to shoot and it very consistant with good care and know how.

great marker

My friend owns an Evo, and it's really nice, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend using compressed air though, it's much more effecient and consistent.

I'm guessing he meant 'no' as in Armotech is not making any more speedball markers.

Although I have heard the Armotech may be discontinuing all their current markers, and starting all over again with the Saturn.

Which, although plausible, doesn't make a lot of sense to me since the Mars EVO LE (the pretty gold and yellow colour ones) supposedly sold very well.

Anybody able to verify this?

wrong.

They will not have a speedball marker period. and they currently dont make them anymore even though there are a few left... let me know if you want one before its too late!

I have a Mars Evo. It's for sale right now. It will be faster and more accurate than a Spyder. It comes with a regulator (Spyders don't, and a good stock barrel). Send me a PM if you want to buy it.
Note: it needs new ball detents and a spring (less than $15 for both).
