12 and lower for front play...
14 and higher for back play...
So if i were a "sniper" id get the longer one.

I'm not a good one to ask,( I've got just about every length there is, and doubles on a couple at that!) However I'd get the 14" to start! It'll be sweet for snipin, then down the road (and alittle more cash) later I'd snag myself a 10" rather than a 12". I've found 10's to be the real deal up front! They tuck nice and tight behind bunkers and trees and they appear to be just as accurate as the 14's. Jusy my .02 cents worth!

I've been wondering the same thing and, since almost all of the accelerating of the ball occurs in the first 8-10 inches, wouldn't a 12 be a good length, expecially for like a Dye ultalight?

Yeah ASM, I had read something close to that statement around velocity readings taken at 12 to 14 inches. With concerns around velocity dropoff after that length (due in part to friction and or drag) seem to increase in this study.
