Actually the Low Pressure kit is a great upgrade if you use Nitro. I double reg and use the LP kit.

Doble regulating would be having a reg on your nitro tank, which all tanks do, and then a reg as your foregrip as well, or a female reg where your ASA would be. It makes it more consistant.

It seems like every time I see a thread about HPA for a 98c people talk about LP kits. Does the 98c not work well with HPA if you just want to screw in a tank and play?

And while I'm asking, what if you just get a LP output tank, say one to the 400psi presets? Would you even need a secondary reg then?

You wouldn't NEED a secondary reg if it's preset to 400, but the kit can lower it less then 300.

And the 98 works ok on nitro without the kit, theres the obvious improvment in cold weather situations, but the CVX valve was made for co2, and without the LP kit there's really not much that much of an improvement.

from what I understand the current operating pressure of the 98C and M98 is up at 800-850.
It seems to me if you got a HPA tank with LP output the gun wouldnt fire correctly, if at all. A normal HP tank would work fine on the gun but the only real difference would be the consisency of shots. The 98 was made for CO2 useage but can be used with HPA. The LP kit helps the gun use HPA to a better degree and also lowers the operating pressure.

That's right, if you have a tank with LP output it won't fire correctly, unless you have the LP kit.
