they are both bad but gun cheats are just crap. If you cant shoot lanes with a timmy or matrix without the assistance of a ramping chip then you suck (unless you play xball where its legal (but shouldn't be))

id rather deal with a guy who's ramping, as opposed to one who's wiping.

while its annoying to have to deal with 20bps coming at u, when the guy is pulling like 6, its frustrating to have to deal with a guy who just wont call himself out.

Ramping and bouncing are too different things. I'd rather go up against someone who's ramping, because when they take their finger off the trigger, the gun stops shooting, but with bounce it will keep on shooting a few more shots, which could hit you in the back of the head as your walking off...which really pisses me off.

But I hate wiping more, especially people that do it in practice, I just despise them.

Also, Forest what's with your stereotyping of playing X-ball? So now just because someone plays X-ball they wipe/gun cheat too....well OK they probaly gun cheat, but wipe?

It used to be just HK/AGG people cheat, now X-ball players do to? Yea, whatever buddy have fun at your *** little "spool" field.

Gun Cheats are unsafe.

Wiping is aggravating, which leads to stress, which leads to high blood pressure, which leads to heart attacks.


Gun cheats aren't popular around here, so i don't have a problem with them yet. Wiping however.

Wiping is worse in my opinion.

I think both are bad because both eliminate the need for skill.

You dont need to make smart moves when you wipe b/c if you get hit you can just wipe.

When you ramp or bounce you dont need any shooting skill b/c you dont need to be accurate or fast.

Even ramping is unsafe. With the bps some ramp too, hell yeah its usafe. I mean, I'm sure you can control it, but if its doing 25bps to someone's face, their mask could fly off, I mean, 25 balls, thats a second, human reaction time isn't great, so yeah, I'd be easy to hurt someone with how high some markers/chips ramp too. Bouncing is bad too. Cause yeah... Some people can get theirs to go full auto, and thats never good.

Wiping, I hate it, its just hurting the sport. I think if you actually care about the sport more than winning, don't wipe. Sooner or later wiping will actually become a part of the game unless people actually notice, that its a bad thing, and choose not to. Also, as wiping increases, players will look for a way to put more balls on somone so that they are for-sure out. THus, ramping and boucning, will both get worse.

I think players need to get real. We are better than this.

laff. I HIGHLY DOUBT, that paintballs will hit someones mask hard enough to make it even budge... that is asuyming the guy knows how to tighten the mask. Even if the paintball was flying over 300 fps, I doubt it will make a mask fly off. Think about it, when you hit someone in the mask, there mask gets pushed into there face, rather then off of it.

I do not like either, but I voted for wiping as the greater of the two evils. (The poll did not make much sense to me asking "Which type of cheating is worse: Wiping, Ramping, or Both?" Both are still cheating, but to make sense, I voted only for wiping.)

I play stock class, so I am already at a disadvantage with the ROF. Ramping just widens the gap, but that's fine with me because I might improve my skills and/or strategy over time.

However, wiping really gets on my nerves because I shoot one or two [hopefully] well-placed shots then move back in, and if someone wipes the hit, my teammates (as well as myself) suffer from an extra player I thought was out.

Well actually we don;t have the spools anymore, it's pretty much all Airball.:P

But I think Forest was just joking around about the Xball part because of the fact that they pretty much allow gun cheats and such

I've only created posts with the word "X-ball" OR "xball" in four threads, none of them having any relevance to bashing anything about X-ball.

I challenge you to find me all this "constant" bashing of the X-ball format.

Because in fact, you're full of ****. If I felt that X-ball was a terribe idea, would I have written a paper about how it was the evolution of the game, which will bring paintball into the limelight?

Yep, and it's getting very old

The last time i played airball i hit a guy twice in his pack and he just looked at the hits and didn't go out. He didn't wipe them he just would not leave the game. So i hung out a little bit longer in an effort to get more hits on him so the refs would finally notice and i ended up getting gogged by a guy in the back left standup. Pissed me off so much.

That's worse than wiping, when someone actually sees that they are hit and continue playing. The make no effort to wipe but just ignore the hit.

Vectors... Trust me, its happened to me. One of the main reason I switched to the profiler. It stays on a lot better compared to the spectra, which is the same as the flex's just not flexy. It can happen. Its weird how it happens, too hard to explain.

But stilll, some people aren't that great at controling themselves, and with ramping and bounce, overshooting is going to just get worse. WHether it be masks not on correctly, or getting hit in say the neck. I don't trust my opponent enough to play where he could be shooting 25bps, I personally don't trust other people enough, cause all it takes is one second, and I could get 25balls right in my neck.
