New Piranha markers wahoo!!!!!!

I opened the cover of the May issue of APG and to the delight of my eyes I saw my new BABY. What is it you say? It's the Piranha EXT Pro G3. This is one bad a$$ marker. Here are some of the specs: Custom milled verticle feed body, PMI clear prizm barrel(IT'S SEETHROUGH!!!!), chrome ram air, barrel cage, raised front sight rail & ball detent cover, Flush bolt cocking system(Like the spyder 2000 I think), Custom drop forward, pure energy adjustable in-line reg & 1200 psi mini gauge. Sorry I couldn't upload a pic, but you gotta see this one.

I've seen this picture somewhere in PBD before, not in APG though. I want that May issue... :( It's a pretty nice lookin' Piranha, however, I wonder what pressure it runs on stock...

sounds nice..also sounds like PMI is gonna overcharge on this, like they did with the PSI.

Nah, I don't think PMI will overcharge it. A lot of new players really like Autocockers and they're not coming pretty damn cheap, like $334.99 or somethin'. While 'Cockers won't perform better than a Piranha, PMI must realize that with the money, people will go for the 'Cocker because it's "professional."

trure true...but what i was saying is that it will probably be cheaper to get a lower end pirahna and make it identical to the new one, and it be cheaper...like how you can get a compact 2k and hook it up, and still be cheaper than a Shutter..

Sorry, Im not sure what the barrel is made of. The marker is not on the PMI website yet and as for the price im not sure what it is either. The pic in APG has the barrel looking kind of milky see through(the pic is not very big)with chrome muzzle brake and other chrome accents. The milling on it is what they call razorback I think. Ill try to get a pic up if I can get my scanner to work.

Yeah, the new G3's look good, but, I don't like the fact they took the beaver tail off. Clear Barrel, you know, that means it's either plastic or Acrylic :eek: , not metal, and they made them all vertical feed. Also, the EXT Pro and Pro TS (the old EXT and Pro models) also get a drop forward, Pure Energy regulator and PSI gauge. They look really sharp (with the exception of the clear barrel on the EXT), Man, maybe I shoulda held off before buying my STS G2.

In response to muckraker about the barrel. I think a clear barrel is a cool idea, but your right about it basically being plastic. I mean how durable would it be compared to aluminum or SS. It's a nice idea but will it work. With the beavertail thing, I kinda like it better without it. Maybe it's just me. I think they took the flush cocking idea from the Spyder 2000 where you cock it and then the cocking rod doesn't fly back in your face every time you shoot, eliminating the need for a beavertail. Like I said though it's just personal preference I guess.

The knee will heal, unlike the ear, which was damaged in a College Kegger ... But you're probably a bit too young to hear about that ... True about the flush cocking bolt, but I've grown accustomed to the look of the beaver tail on my marker, just a personal preference ... As for the barrel, I'd just really be worried about durability and performance. There are some strong polymer compounds out there, but still, a plastic barrel, it just seems like an abomination against nature ... But overall, they're some Damn nice looking markers, and I'm sure they perform as well as they look.

EM-1's do not blow. Have you ever shot one? They're pretty nice, but way overpriced. They can't be run on CO2 either, or at least I don't think so. For the price, you could get an Impulse with the awesome Max Flow regulator, and also be able to run on CO2. I'd much rather get a Hyperframe over an EM-1...

I e-mailed PMI and they said that the G3s should be out in the next couple of days and that the new catalog should be out in the next 2-3 weeks. I still have no idea what the prices are though.

The trigger sucked? I guess you don't like electronic guns... Can't shoot fast with a single trigger? From what I know, the EM-1 has a sliding trigger, there's absolutely no point to a second trigger as it doesn't give you any additional leverage. In fact, with a double trigger, you may even mess up while rapid firing. Single triggers can shoot fast, guess you just don't know how...

Those look like some azz kickin guns, but just one thing... Why a site rail going right into the vert feed? I know the original had this too, but at least that was part of a beaver tail. Oh, speaking of beaver tails, the guy said that it doesn't need one because after you cock it the first time it doesn't come back out again. I had been hoping somebody would do that.

Actually, Kingman Spyder 2000's have the Snap-Grip, which is basically what that is on the G3...

The barrel is made out of polycarbonate. In other words it's a high impact thermoplastic (sometimes used in place of bullet proof glass). So it should hold up just fine.

1. I don't know much about it, but I trust PiranhaPro, it ain't a gun.
