First, make sure its installed properly, and then, write a review instead of a thread.

Flatlines have had a reputation of being picky about velocity and paint size. I believe it likes the velocity to be in the 285 vacinity and the paint to be small to medium bore(i prefere small myself, it seemed to carry better. If you have checked all of the above, maybe you have co2 spikes and need a reg. to help you out.

racer8dan, if you have tried reinstalling it, you followed the manual, you tuned it to get your velocity at or around 270 or 280, and your using a good paint to barrel match. I would try sending it into tippmann, the problem with most people is that they give up on things too easily. I bought a flatline barrel off the internet and tried it, it was horrible i did everything right and still couldnt get it to work. SO i sent it into tippman, turns out that for whatever reason the barrel was defective, it just kept breaking paint, also i found out that the aftermarket front bolt i had put in extended too far and could cause chopping. Now i dont think you were complaing about chopping but my point is that you might have something wrong with it or something else might be wrong. Tippman gave me a new flatline barrel and i am going to try that this coming tuesday, so i will be posting a review, i am going to be patient with this barrel if it doesnt work after a couple rounds i will probably retire it. So before you call it quits give tippmann a shot, they are very good with that kind of thing.

Dont even waste your time working with the flatline or posting about it unless you have a handheld chronograph and a tape measure and a large(5ftwide) target to shoot at. Get a bag of marbilizers and some Diablo formula 13 to target shoot with. Shoot at 100ft, 125 ft and 150ft away from the target. The flat trajectory should extend out to 150ft, and a regulator will help GREATLY with shot precision.

If you dont want to go to the trouble, you might want to try an A5 and flatline(much easier to set up) or just get a Lapco bigshot or jand j ceramic and be done with it.

After all of that, I still dont like my 98c/flatline with palmers stabilizer, but I love my friends A5/flatline (even with no reg and straight co2) so that's what Im going for.

the flatline is great if you know what to do with it.

#1. It needs to be installed correctly. If it's not put in straight, your shots will curve.

#2. You need to use small or medium bore paint. even though the flatline is a large-bore barrel, the way it is designed makes small or medium paint a must.

#3. The velocity should be around 270-280 FPS. higher than 290 will start to cause problems.

it's not that hard to use the flatline. if you have half a brain, you should be able to do it.
