use PMI gun oil....

it works on my spyder, and seeing as any paintball lube will do, i would get that, it's cheap.

any paintball marker lube is ok... there shouldn't be any special kind only for xcellerators

oh... and this is what i lube to stop leaks, when these parts werent lubed up (i think i had a damaged o-ring) it was leaking like a *****.

the entire valve assembly. all o-rings in the regulator. and the tank o-ring. not sure if you should lube your bolt, but i would, to be safe, oil anything with orings

Lubin your caps lock! It's seems to be rusted "ON" and that's No Good! and it needs to be fixed first!
Start out by clearing off a table that's well lite get your lube or oil, a clean rag or cloth or paper towels

A: First you'll need to remove this pin, It should have a clip on the other side which will allow you to remove it!

B: The striker should then be free, to pull outalong with the "C" Bolt at the same time. Oil both of these making sure to lube the o-rings. Replace these two in the same postioning as you had removed them. (You'll have to play with the trigger as your inserting the bolt and striker, it's a feel kindda thing!) Return the pin "A" and clip. Drip alittle oil down thru the vertical feed tube directly on to the bolt and work it back and forth

D:Turn your gum upside down and drip a couple drops of oil inside the trigger area

E:Read the gauge see if it says "Do Not Oil" or "No Oil" if it DOES NOT then put one or two drops into the small hole and gas your marker up and fire it working this oil thru it's internals.
Hope this helps!

If you want to save yourself a buck or two, use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). It works like a charm.;)

Can you please explain that a little better??? Do all of the guns have the Do Not Oil thing??
Mine says Use No Oil. Does that qualify for not oiling??

All JT 4.0's have a regulator which should not be oiled (ie: don't add oil where you attach your tank)
All of the internal moving parts (hammer and bolt etc) need regular oiling or your gun will either:
A: Refuse to fire in the middle of a firefight (extremely frustrating) or
B: Ruin your O-rings and leak air (equally frustrating)
Both A and B apply to any gun that is not properly taken care of.

Where was this thread when I first got my 4.0? It would have saved me from looking like a retard at the PB shop.

I have the 4.0 and I oil the ASA all the time because my shop tells me to. I haven't any problem with it yet. Should I continue to do this? What is the affect on the gun?

To tell you the truth, I have no idea why the gauge says do not oil. But I have noticed that other types of high pressure gauges have the same warning. It may be that you will never have any problems with your gauge by oiling the ASA and your shop probably does it all the time with no ill effects. But if you think about it, there's no need to cycle oil through the regulator and the X-chamber and I doubt if the valve really needs it either. The main thing that needs oiling are the O-rings any way.

There are o-ring/seals in the ss line and in the x-chamber. There are also o-rings in the LPC and the valve that are hard to get to. The bolt and stricker can be easily remove and oil. I will continue to add a couple of drop in the asa each time I go out.

Those o-rings are nonmoving parts. Thus, they don't require oiling. But if you want to put a few drops in your ASA, it's no skin off my nose.

alright fellas i have another question. When i pull the back part out and lube it, i have a part from the trigger sticking up preventing me from pushing it back it. WTF! I had to end up taking out the trigger in order to put it on. Now there must be a easier way to do it! I've also tried sticking pens in there in frustration to try and hold that thing down but with no avail. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

When I tell you how to do this, your going to slap your head because its so easy. When you slide the hammer into the gun, the resistance you feal is the sear sticking up. All you have to do is push the hammer against the sear until the sear slides forward and engages the trigger. Pull the trigger and the hammer will slip right by it.;)
