Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to the paintball gig but looking to get my first marker. I've been doing a lot of research and have found that I could get a bit of a better gun by purchasing used....now I think I've found a good deal here locally, but being the complete newb I was hoping to run it by some of you more knowledgeable peeps.
- 2001 Black Smart Parts Impulse
Ups are as follows:
- CCM Clamping no rise
- Psycho Ballistics On/Off drop forward
- Kmart Parts vertical reg, stock horizontal reg included
- PMI 45/45 w/ Dye Rhino Cover
- Revi w/ X-Board
- Dye Stickies
All this for 350$....seems like a good deal to me but I appreciate any input from ya'll....
well with the nitro tank mabe, but that gun is to old. that is the first year when vision came out and the impy was only invented in 2000. back then there were many problems with impys and most of them have been worked out in newer impys. tehy made many improvements on eletronic baords, and stuff about the vertical adapter. i would not get it. the major deal is that it is not vision ready. this mneas that if you ever wanted to get an eye for it, you would have to have it sutom intalled. with the newer guns you can put the eye in yourself. you can find better deals.
I disagree with Ikey.... for a beginer setup an Impulse with those parts and upgrades for $350 is definately a good deal... as long as the gun is in good working condition and the tank works and doesn't need to be retested (they need testing every 3-5 years, costs about $30).
Even if you don't like the gun after you get it, keep the tank and hopper and sell the Impulse for like $200 and put that towards a new gun or other used gun.

/agree.
Almost any marker that has a HPA tank for under 400$ is a good deal... Let alone a 45ci/4500! And 2k1 impulses aren't as problematic as Ikey says. If you don't like the impulse, buy the package, keep the tank and revvy, and sell the marker alone for like 200$ for whatever marker you like.
yeah but you couldp robably get a 2003 impy with the same parts for the same price. i once saw a 2004 nasty with a new golt and hammer with vision and a 68/4500 for 500. there are better deals. and if he ever did want vision a 2k1 would be a problem. and the baord in a 2k1 really isnt that great at all compared to baords now.

Well, this happens to fit right around my budget....trying to stay in the 300-350$ range...if you can recommend a better deal for this price range, I'm all ears :)
well yes i was using the nasty as an example. but im sure you can find a better deal. i would try to get atleast a 2002, so it is vision ready. that way if you ever want to upgrade your gun or you wantto never chop, then you can put it in easily without custom work.

I'd like to see you find a 2002 impy with a 45/4500 tank and a revvi. You'll end up spending 600-700$ total setup for a 2k3-4 impy with tank hopper. Take it, and if you have probs with the impy or want vision, sell it and keep tank/hopper. 150$ is a GREAT deal on that tank and hopper.
did u read my second to last post, i found a 2004 nasty vision impy witha 68-4500 a new bolt and hammer and a freak for 500. he didnt buy it and now my and his brother will never let him live it down. but yes better deals do exist. no it is more expensive than 350, but considering a stock internal nasty with no upgrades at all and novision is 525 alone i would say 500 for all of that is a deal sent from god.

No one is saying that the above gun isn't a h3ll of a deal. I'm sayin what he's got is a good deal, but h3lla good deals like the one above are few and far between.

That's 500$, not 350$ ^^
If 500$ is in his pricerange, he should look for a better deal, though.
