Does anyone know how buying a bulk tank of CO2 costs? Can I just buy the CO2 and borrow the tank?

I have a 20 pound tank that cost $13.50 to fill. I got it at a welding supply store. The tank cost $120.00. I also have an ACI fill station that was $35.00. It easily paid for itself in 6-8 months. You can get food grade co2 tanks also but I think they cost more. Be sure to get a siphon tube in the tank or you have to flip it over (not much fun.) They make larger tanks (50lbs) that are about the same price to fill but they get really heavy.

You can rent tanks but they usually have a hefty deposit. Also something interesting to note. If you buy food grade c02 at a restaurant supply store they tend to jack their prices before holidays. Right before 4th of July a place wanted 22 for a fill and a week after they were back at 13. Welding shops stay consistent.
