well decide what your playing levels is, if it's your first tourney together than go dead last, and avoid al modes but semi, and DON'T CHEAT!!!! and i would be more proud if my team took home sportsmanship than 1st

first find out what format it is..5 man, 10 man. I've never heard of a 6 man tourney...Then figure out your costs. Paint, air, miscellanious, etc etc. I wouldn't go out and buy personallized jerseys just yet. Find out what playing level you are in cuz if you go up too high, you will be slaughtered. As for your gun, full auto or bursts are usually not allowed. As for turbo, i'm not sure. THe NPPL has banned them from their t0urneys now, from what i know. Call up your proshop and ask them. Preperations:
practice practice practice. YOu don't wanna be caught in a situation where you slacked off, and now you're not up to where you should be, skillwize. The day before, relax. DOn't push yourself, you'll need teh energy the next day. During the tourney, stay cool. Even against big odds, don't panic. try to take out as many players as you can, and try to wear the clock down. Prevent the flag pull, and try to make it a draw. IF you have the advantage, don't underestimate the opposition. Too many times have teams done this and have lost the game. Communicate. That is the most important thing you have to do. If you don't communicate with your teammates, you will have no clue to what's goin on with the rest of the team. Don't cheat. Cheating will get you nowhere, and put a bad reputation on you if you get caught. Have fun. Try your best, but don't be dissapointed if you don't come in first. THis is your first tourney. Hope that helped.

For individual players:
Front player: Be aggressive but dont' be stupid. You have to make crucial moves to get the advantage. Dont be afraid to move, it will get you elliminated if you dont move. Also, when you move, sprint, stay low, and slide into your new bunker. Snap shooting is a must.

Mid Player/Drifter: Be where you are needed. IF a back player has been taken out, move into that position and give some cover fire. If the left flank is wide open, cover that spot. Your main goal is to assist wherever it is needed.

Back Player: Give cover fire. Your front/mid players will be counting on you. Also, communicate. They [front players] are depending on you to give them crucial info like how many people are left in the opposition, where there is an opening, the position of the opposition, etc etc.
