Buying a used dark angel... tips?

I have a friend that has a dark angel that he offered to sell me. He said that it needed some chip or something, and is a few years old.

What should i be looking for? If I have to replace the LCD, what would be an appropriate price for the gun? I assume its all stock...

do yourself a favor, and dont bothter trying to get a broken gun working

its not worth the trouble unless he is selling it for like 200 bucks and you get 1grand worth of stuff with it

do you know much about it? if its a few years old it might be an LED . . . find out more about it and see if there is somewhere around you that can do work on it if needed.
