I am doing a project on my paintball guns. but, i dont have a vice. I need some ways to clamp or hold my paintball guns on a surface while i am shooting it.

Any ideas? all i thought of was some clamps and duct tape.

Edit: yay! after 3 posts, my keyboard started worknig again!

I'd just make a place to rest your tank on. That should keep it steady while shooting it.

I have one of those floor clamps that you use when sawing.

I'd use on of those if you have one.

All I can think of is a vice, or a person with very steady hands.

Well, try and make a stand for it or something out of wood.

If I had to do this I would definately try and build something out of wood just to keep it down, shouldn't be too hard.

Dude, I'm pretty sure you have like $30 or so. Couldn't your parents help you out with it anyways, cuz its kinda like a "house" tool?

yeah, just set the marker on the floor, press it against the table leg, and secure it there. rope may or may not work, bungee cord may or may not work. clamp would definitely work. duct tape....naw. too hard to get all that sticky stuff off afterwards.

edit- actually, if you are still in school, go to the woodsworking class shop. talk to the instructer, he might loan you a clamp, if he knows that its for a project.

actually, i might use the rope to tie it to the side of something. I think that might work.

Carpenter's clamps (look like jumper cable clamps) are probably like 2-3 bucks a piece and they'll hold just about anything solid. Cheaper than a vise too. I'd still recommend a table vise though.
