The vert feed isnt going to feed any much faster then a powerfeed. If you dont chop paintballs alot then a Revvy isnt really needed.

if you dont want to have to shake your hopper constantly and have reliable feed rates so you can shoot fast, then yes you will need a revvy. if you dont mind it not feeding very fast all or reliably, then i geuss you dont have too . . . for the most part though i am going to say you do and dissagree with these "veterans", and just wonderin - did they have nice guns, or revvies? or just rentals? . . .

A revy to me means not having to shake my gun and miss a good shot when paintballs get jammed. I can't out shoot my regular hopper, but sometimes a regular hopper doesn't feed the paintballs.
a revy to me is the joy and happyness of being a back man :) Constant rate of fire with a constant rate of pballs

according to Warpig Ballistic Lab tests, vert feed fed well at 11.5 bps, beyond that, not too great, I am using an Impy, and just for the heck of it I'm getting a revvy (I told my friend I am going to paint him) If you are not shooting faster than 10 bps, one is not needed, but you can get one
Its hard for a player by himself to measure the rate of fire. If you think you need one get one. If you think you dont, dont.
