This is a Very short Sniper Guide but Heres some helpful hint to people who want to be Sniper Users.
- Barrel lengths should be 10" to 14", you may think "ohh im gonna get the longest barrel I can find and stick it on my gun and own yall". Well your wrong, Barrels longer than 14" create friction thus slowing the ball down and using more gas. Barrels shorter than 10" are very inaccurate. So I sugest getting a 14-16" barrel.
-If you use the one hit one kill rules then make sure before you pull the trigger your accurate, and fire no more than 1 shot each 5-10 sec if your hiding in brush so your not spotted (usually only with pump guns).
-Scopes are very useless in a small paintball game, and they're usually expensive. buy sights, they are very cheap and are very useful.
-if your a sniper dont get one of those huge 14 or 16 oz tanks, it makes to much noise and is a big buldge to carry around the field.
-Get a good gun and not some cheap Paintball gun, *cough *cough Brass Eagle. Don't buy a gun around $35, it'll be a piece a' junk and you won't like it. Pump guns are the most accurate and very light. Semi's are very useful in nomatter what class of gun they are sued in. I would not sugest a full Auto as it costs alot and most fields don't let you use it.
This has been a very short guide to Snipers and followed is a cool tricked out paintball sniper.

Well, most of what you posted is common sense.
Also, you will probably get flamed for this. People on this site really don't like these "snipers." They don't like them because a majority of them are annoying or it's just a phase.
We've all gone through that phase. It's common for most people so start out with. Though, at times people actually stay in that phase and they're more cocky than all of HK Army. They also don't believe in teamwork, which is absurd.
What you posted really won't help anybody. If you want to get someone out in woods ball you have to run or stay in a concealed position. Staying in a concealed position doesn't mean to be deacked out in ghillie and camo duck-tape all over your gun. It also doesn't mean to hide in trees.;)
When I play woods ball the first thing I notice when I spot someone is the mask. None of what you covered will help with that. That's why I recomend to keep running and find decent bunkers. It's best to be seen than to be not seen.
Oh, ICD... you have nothing to say.
The best length for a barrel is the 14 or 16. It's your choice. Personally I think 16 is a little on the long side, so I have a 14.

16" is the most universal. Perfect for hugging the bunkers in airball, keeping tight in hyperball, and great for pushing through brush in the woods.

01-17-2005, 10:29 AM
Eh?
16oz tanks being louder than other co2 tanks.? They make 14oz tanks?
Pump markers are no more accurate than a semi. they only seem more accurate because you take the extra time to aim.
1 shot kill is the stupidest paintball tactic there is. You cannot count on that ball hitting it's target or breaking on target. FIre 1 shot ever 10 seconds. What happens if you miss.
You say that longer barrels are bad, but you have a pic of a spyder clone with a 21in barrel.
What kinda of retardation were you born with. This is the stupidest thread in history.

It's okay. If you look around some of the most informative members have the "n00berz" names. Two being Sniper15 and Woods Sniper.
Good look with the sport. Oh, and please don't stay in this phase TOO long.;) If you get some friends into the sport y'all can go to the local field or play some woodsball and it'll grow from there. That's pretty much how everyone starts.

OK time for the voice of reason/a more experienced person to step in....
1) Barrel length does not matter. If you think that it does then you are ignorant and very inexperienced. Shorter is not nessiarly better but it has its downfalls as well. A 10' barrel can be far more accurate than a 12-16' barrel. It depends on who makes the barrel and what type of marker the barrel is used on. Also ty reading some posts in the "Barrels and paint" forum to straiten out some of your facts....
-If you use the one hit one kill rules then make sure before you pull the trigger your accurate, and fire no more than 1 shot each 5-10 sec if your hiding in brush so your not spotted (usually only with pump guns).
2) In paintball we do not use "guns" to "kill" we use "markers" to "tag" or "eliminate" people. These rules you state are both inaccurate and well to be blunt asinine. There is no such thing as a "sniper" in paintball. There are people that like to think of themselves as "snipers" but the sad fact is they are just a more marksmanship orientated person.
-Scopes are very useless in a small paintball game, and they're usually expensive. buy sights, they are very cheap and are very useful.
3) In most games were you would find "snipers" they are scenarios and/or woodsball. These games are played out on large fields that tend to be difficult to see across without some form of an aid. There are NO "snipers" in small games...only sharp-shooters. Sights are useless, due to the fact that a few min. each day working with your paintball marker will familiarize you with how-to aim with it. Scopes are not expensive they tend to sell for 15-75$. The only sight that I would recommend is a IZON.
-if your a sniper dont get one of those huge 14 or 16 oz tanks, it makes to much noise and is a big buldge to carry around the field.
4) Well this is quite odd....over the years I have run a field it seems that no CO2 tank is louder than the others....And well look at the size of a regular 16oz and then at the size of a 16oz chrome molly tank....Then redo your size matters statement.
5) Well now you seem to be a hater....read this now or at least the first two posts...READ THIS! (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=280603)...Pump markers are very nice but can be heavy. Most markers that are "low-end" electro's have multiple firring modes...they are not "more expensive" than any others...also many fields allow you to use full-auto during scenarios.
http://www.paintballgame.cz/pics/clanky/SPYSNIPER.gif
Interesting how you say size matters and longer is worse...and then show a picture of a SPYDER with a 21 inch barrel....

In all fairness, as n00b cannons go, that 'sniper rifle' is a pretty sexy one... Not practical, mind you, but sexy. I kinda like it. I'd never use it in a game, or course, but it would be fun to frig around with.

Ok I came up with some of my own things.
Paintball Hints*
-CLEAN you gun after every use
-When in-game use tactics and listen to the captain
-Never come to a field starving
-Move in-game, do't be a sitting duck
-For Begginers, Paintballs hurt ,but not at the moment you get shot. It usually takes a few hours to a day for the real pain to come.
-Come well padded if you know your skin is sensitive
-Don't be a wiper
-Don't buy cheap guns, EX: Brass Eagle Striker and their pump

Once again, most of that is common sense.;)
If you'd like to help out it's best to play for a year or so and then put in comments. Thanks for the help anyways.

The initial pain could hurt more than than afterwards. Like in Speedball, when you get bunkered. That's going to hurt more first and than the pain will lessen.

:eyes: the only time id agree is when i get shot in the head but it bounces (happens alot, thick beanie ). i get home, take a shower, wash my hair and then find the spot where it hit...that kinda gets my attention but other then that it doesnt really bother me.
