One of my friends offered to sell me his 2001 angel lcd with a 14" Boomstick and 3800 psi tank for $400.
Should I go with this deal or try to get a 2k2 timmy for probobly around $600?

Coming from a former angel owner and current timmy owner, definatly go with the timmy. The timmy has ACE, is lower pressure (if that matters to you), you don't need a special tool kit to take it apart, and its just a lot easier to work with. And the efficiency is top notch. You can't go wrong with the timmy. To me, the timmy beats the angel out in every area... the only thing I liked better about my old LCD was the color. ;)
And 3800psi tank? I don't believe I've heard of those...

Not a fan of LCD's. I say timmy. Plus 3800? Your friend sounds like a nub, so theres another reason to get the 2k2.

i've only shot 1 trix and it was an older switch-frame with tons of bounce. That being said it felt really nice- no kick at all
So with my lack of expeirience with trixes, i say timmy. i think it feels wonderful in the hands

I just did:D
Out of those 2, definatley the timmy. You could get a Trix for the same price though. I suggest you go to your shop or field and try to shoot both, then decide.

Angels are very quality markers, but are pretty slow without an upgraded board and will chop without an ACE (majority of the time).
Intimidators are very fast, and won't usually chop, but aren't made with the best quality.
Matrices are very fast, won't chop, and are made with awesome quality.
If you have the option, get a Matrix. If not, Intimidator is an acceptable choice. It'll do you well. Just don't be surprised if a screw strips here and there.

The LCD Angels were great when they were first released and were really state of the art 5 years ago. With recent improvements in technology, you want to hook up an Intimidator. The intimidator is, all around, going to be a much better marker. If you're talking about a Timmy for an A4 Fly, then it's going to come down to a few preference decisions, but in this case go with an Intimidator. I've used both and the Timmy will be the better option for you.

The position he plays also matters... A front player with a matrix is a pretty bad idea.

Trixes aren't that big and heavy.

Compared to some other guns they are.

I understand that, my freestyle is a lot smaller than a trix, but they are not huge to the point that they would seriously impare a front player.

yea but it shouldnt be that much of a problem. I could barely tell the difference between a trix and a cocker.
Then again cockers are pretty heavy.
Bottom line is, you can handle it

Incorrect. You don't need a tool kit to dissassemble anything for maintenance, merely circlip pliers.
Throw a Jam bolt in the LCD, should work good. But in my honest opinion, I'd go for the 2k2 over an LCD.

But what about adjusting the LPR? You need a special tool for that, if I'm not mistaken... which I might be.

Definitely an Intimidator. Just a better marker in my opinion.
