View Full Version : Pleeeeeease make my decision for me!

I need to decide what marker to buy next and I have it narrowed down to these: b2k5, 04 angel speed (used), 2k2 timmy(used), mayyyyybe a matrix or a shocker (used). If you can help me make this decision or at least help me rule out some of the options that would be cool, and I play speedball front/mid, and have about 600-650 to spend and I will be upgrading the marker over time.

Who the hell said B2k5?

There are INFINITELY better choices on the list....that's nothing but blindness and an ICD stiffy.

Out of those choices, a used Timmy or Trix without a doubt.

I dunno it just seemed like a nice marker, 1.4 pounds, fs board, clamshell frame, qevs, etc...

When I see a marker lighter than an EGO, I'll believe it.

Why waste money on ICD when you've got DYE/Proto, WDP, and Bob Long on that list?

Ah, ok, a bit lighter than the EGO, but they're also figuring without barrel and bottomline system. That does change things somewhat. But still, so what? A half a pound is going to kill you? There's no question here....the B2k5 is inferior to everything else on that list.

I dont think they are lighter either.

I held the ego a couple weeks ago, and I was amazed about how light it was. Its just crazy.

I voted used 2k2 Timmy.

Used timmy, trix, or angel will always be better than an ICD gun (except possibly the FS)

I thought that the 2k2 timmy was pretty heavy? Good for a front player? Oh and if anyone can tell me how much heavier the adrenaline impulse is than the timmy I would appreciate that. And the b2k5 is 1.9, sorry it was a type-o.

Looks like I might be buying the timmy... I'm pretty much letting this thread decide it all because I like all the guns. What about an adrenaline impulse? How does that compete?

Shoot the guns before you buy them and as every other thread i have seen like this one says, dont let others make decissions for you.

edit: pucks u beat me to it and also, the adrenaline imp is ok but i would get one of the ones from the list if u can.

The only gun I had the opportunity to shoot was the adrenaline impulse. And I CANNOT shoot the rest :(, although I'm sure they'll all be fast and kickless.

You have to shoot the guns before you buy them no matter what or you might be stuck with something you realy dont like. Heres my opinion though

04 freestyle stock: Light, short, small. I held one and found it realy uncomfortable b/c the reg is realy small and the macro line goes right into the middle of it making it uncomfortable to grip

04 shocker with vertical reg: pretty much same as freestlye all though a little bit more comfortable grip.

04 Angel speed: light comfortable, but no eyes so it chops alot.

Other than that you realy need to hold them you self some people like the freestyle, I didnt. Also if you not on a team or plan to get one one and play alot of tournys you dont need guns this good.

That's what I've been hearing :P. I guess that's off the list so now:
Adrenaline Impulse
2k2 timmy
trix
shocker
angel speed

I've shot many Matrixes, Intimidators, Shockers and Angels, and I say Speed. But thats just my preferance, I'm just an Angel person.

When you go to the field ask people if you can shoot their guns, I used to not ask people because I was afraid they'd say no or something but now that I ask people I've shot so many guns.

In most of these threads people have said speed...

STO Balla 22
01-21-2005, 01:07 PM
Adrenaline Impulse Overpriced, overhyped, heavy, tall, slow, low resale value
2k2 timmy Well priced, not the newest gun out, but that's OK if it doesn't bother you. Fast, especially with Frenzy, small, light.
trix You said you are a front, a Trix is going to be a little heavy. A used DM4 would be nice, but I wouldn't go with anything but a Proto, DM4, or DM5, which I think are going to be out of your price range.
shocker Work great when they're working, but from my experience, that doesn't seem to be too often. They're very small and light, but SP's customer service is terrible. It seems like you don't have a whole lot of experience, but I could be wrong. If that's true, don't get a Shocker
angel speed Great gun if you like 90* Frames, I don't, but that's just me. Not a fan of the SENSI system, but it can work well when set up right.

Here's how I rank them, but again, this is just me, and feel comes into consideration when I rank them.

1) 2k2 Timmy
2) Speed
3) Tie between Trix and Shocker
5) Adrenalin Imp

Adrenalin Impulse: (sorry guys always must defend)
How are they slow first off?.. I can't defend it without some kind of comment to make that in any way believable.

My marker is no taller then most markers.. I'l get you some measurements if you like.

Its lighter then the stock impulse and for the same price its not a bad deal (concidering SP's imp is overpriced I'd say the price is right). I havn't tried to sell mine lately so I wouldn't know about that resale thing, but whats your reasoning for the low resale value? I see nothing about it that would make it depreciate in value faster then any other marker..

What do you mean by Hype?

here's my rating
1. timmy
2. trix
3. speed
4. shocker
5. pulse

The speed would be tied with #2 if you plan ace-ing it. imo a timmy has it all. effeciency, speed, great eyes, etc

Can't, my shop doesn't have either of them. But I know what I'm doing now, I'm keeping my eye out for either a black/orange or black/grey or black/yellow timmy, and a red speed or a4, so whichever I find first when I get my cash I'll buy. I don't think I can possibly go wrong with either though. Thanks for the help guys!

I'm almost positive that Speeds are heavier than 2k2's, and most of that weight is in the back, where your tank and loader are also. I'm pretty sure they're taller too, and they're definitely wider.

I don't get it, you wanted us to make your decision, and even though a large majority of people are voting for the 2k2, you're still undecided. You said you're a front, and the Speed is definitely a bigger, heavier gun. You're not sure if you like the 90* frame, but you currently own a gun with a 45* frame. Why take a chance on getting something you might not like?

Yup, that's why I suggested it. DM4's are obviously taller, but weigh about the same as a 2k2. They also have effeciency problems, but that shouldn't be much of an issue unless you have to pay a lot for air at your field. Besides that, it's really preference. I like the feel of DM4's almost as much as I like the feel of Timmies. Unless air efficiency is a big deal to you, a DM4 would be a good choice.
