Hey, I was wondering, how much money would it take to build a 5 man field, out of wood. I've been searching for airball fields but they are way to costly for my team to afford. Does anyone know anyways of cost efficent ways to make a field? Or any ways to get free wood, hyperball pipes, barrels, bunkers, etc?

Would be good if anyone could help me out

Thanks
-Brandon

Go to businesses and ask if they have any wooden pallates that they wouldn't mind unloading. Or go around the neighborhood and start taking old couches that people leave on the curb. I think a couch field would be awesome. Well, basically just be on the lookout for freebies when you're out and about on your daily adventures.

Do a search, there have been several threads on this subject.

That said, tires from a junk yard are free. Defective lumber can be obtained from a lumber yard very cheaply; It may not be worthy of a house, but it will work fine for a paintball field. Straw is cheap as well, find a local farmer and it should be less than $1 a bail.

The only thing about using tires in an outdoor field, which I am assuming he is gunning for, is that when they get wet, they can become breeding grounds for mosquitos, so you may want to watch out for that.

You can also ask the local utility companies for used spools.

Im honestly surprised any PB field doesn't have mosquito's, they are just a fact of life during Ohio Summers. Then again, this whole area used to be the Black Swamp. I have heard that CO2 attracts mosquito's as well, I have always wondered if the guns play a role in attracting them.

They'll often give them away to you or sell them very cheap. These are great for homemade fields.

great thing about living in the desert, no bugs. ever. but ya try to see if you can get spools/ haystacks(personal experience, those work reaaally well;)) also try to find some masonry. it may be different where you live but out in vegas bricks/mortar are dirt cheap and they really stand the test of time. ;)

Def go with the spools, I get first dibs cause my dad works for a electrical company :P Tires are good too but like GranDream said they are brreding grounds, also bees and wasps reeaally like a few stacked on top of each other. Pretty much plywood, try 4x6 sheets for any type of standup etc. and 3x6+ for snakes and laydowns. Also swimming pool stores sell inflatable inserts for when you close your pool for the winter. They come in different shapes and are fairly cheap but aren't nearly as strong as real airball bunkers.

Go to any dealership that sells tires, and ask if you can have their tires that they plan on taking to the dump. That's what I did. Plus, they have to pay to take them to the dump. So I bet they would be happy if you asked to take them.

Bricks are cheap out there too? Bricks are expensive around here, or at least the ones for houses are. Do you mean cinder blocks?
