View Full Version : What's the difference from "Auto" and "Semi" mode?

Alright, I can actually walk the marker on "Auto" mode. On semi, it skips a lot of trigger pulls. What's the difference from the two? It doesn't really matter anymore since I just bought a different marker, but this can be my back up.

are you a noob? jw

the difference is that on auto you can hold down the trigger and it will shoot thats why it was shooting faster. and semi it only shoots once per trigger pull. when you were walking it on auto it was probably shooting like 2 per pull

if your talking a tes the definition is a little differnt. both semi and auto on a tes are actualy semi

the normal semi mode reads fewer trigger pulls per milisecond then the auto mode, thats why semi skips trigger pulls.

not quite....on auto the trigger is more sensitive...on semi...well...its the opposite..

No, i'm not a noob. I just never bothered with the marker. I used it around 4 times. I never looked through the manual once, or bothered with any other settings. I just actually noticed the difference from "auto" and "semi" when dry firing.

By the way, I know what "auto" is. But for the TES, it's not the same as what you're thinking about.

sspaintball9590 you would be the n00b in this case becuase with the TES's version of auto, it is like a form of debounce, it make the trigger alot mose "sensitive" t basically give you 1.5 shots per pull so if you get firing fast then it produces a slightly higher ROF.

:agree:

yeah, know the markers that you are talking about. Like everybody Else has said- Auto on a TES is different. Its not Full Auto. In this instance it just lets you shoot faster than you could with the setting set for lower.

there was like 5 page long argument over exactly what semi mode is, and many other threads about the same thing do a search, test your gun, and decide for yourself, but one thing everyone knows is that semi is harder to walk than auto

It's almost impossible to walk it fast on semi mode.

this brings up an interesting question to mind. does anybody know.....that since the t-board for the dragun doesnt have the auto mode, if its still as hard to get the walking speed up on a tes that has the t-board in it?

(edited to clarify)

a tes with a t-board would have a very high response, "1 million trigger pull checks per second", but ultimately what makes a gun easier to walk or not, is the trigger and switch

sorry about the nOOb thing but he never clarified what kind of gun he had!..In my case seeing that I have an 03 and my bro has a Torid X i thought that auto was full auto.

ahhhhhh, I see. so basically thats what the auto mode is on the factory board of the tes, a faster per-second check?

I was just wondering, cause I know that the t-board doesnt have auto. Thanks!

edit- heh...I just got done looking at the t-board for the dragun. I guess it DOES have auto. LOL oops...my bad. sorry bout that.

Ive explained what Auto mode is several times. No one ever listens to or agrees with me, so why bother again?

Seriously, Auto mode DOES NOT speed up your shooting. One pull = one shot, no matter how fast you are pulling (unless your pulling more than 20 bps, but thats a cap issue). Auto mode on a TES is true semi-auto shooting, which is capped at whatever number you set it to. It is a totally tourney legal mode.

This 100% undoubtedly true information should be stickied to end the "auto mode discussion madness" and people will know what it is from now on.

Dont try to disagree with me, cuz I will not battle over this again. More clarification can be provided if asked for.

DO NOT ASK ABOUT THE SEMI MODE! JUST DONT USE IT!!!

.... yea everyone knows that already but people don't exactly know what semi mode is that's what this thread is about...

the question is what doesn't semi mode do to restrict bps, not what does auto mode do to speed it up, and like you said it doesn't speed it up

As you can tell from most of the people that comment on the AUTO mode, they do think that it speeds up your shooting. I hope youre right that most people have figured it out.

There is no conclusive evidence of what exactly the SEMI mode does, but I have deduced the following:

*you set it to a certain number in SEMI mode
*when you pull the trigger below that number, it seems to stay at or below 8 bps, when the cap is set above what you are able to pull. this could be a % reduction, but i am not entirely sure
*when you pull at or above the number it is set at, it will fire at that number bps

For instance, I can pull and stay above 12 bps easily, and it goes exactly 12 bps when it is set on SEMI 12 and I do this. At 13 and up it gets more and more gaps between the speedy parts, until about 17 where I can never get it above that number. It seems to stay at 8 bps when I cant reach the number. It kind of funny when you set it to 4 or 5, and you pull a bunch of shots really fast, and after you pull the last time it will click once more. Its keeping the last two shots at the set bps, and I am obviously pulling a lot faster than that.

Instead of AUTO and SEMI, the modes should be called SEMI and HANDICAP, respectively. I dont see why they even needed to put in the SEMI mode... but thats Dragun for ya. At least they changed it for T1.
