best bet to go with PMI, they'll usually fit any drop and asa

i have a PMI tank and it fit perfectly on my tes, but you can really buy any tank and make it would with the stock drop. just loosen the hex screw on top of the drop and push the asa back away from the regulator and then tighten the hex screw back up. this should give you plenty of room for any tank.

I had a carleton 68/3k hooked up to mine today and it fit fine. I had a carleton 114/45 that wouldnt fit. PMI does seem to fit well. I'll let you know how my crossfire fits when it gets here.
but yes, the drop is adjustable, but the steelbraided hose kinda limits how far back you can adjust it.

I also wanna say that the "best" will also depend on how you play. for instance if you play scenario, I'd recommend a 114/45 because it will last a lot of shots without needing to be refilled, or if you're a backman.
if you are a rec player, I'd say a 68 would be fine, or if you are a frontman, to go with a 47/4500 because of the small size/weight.

just dont go with a cheap 3a tank. they leak worse than pmi/pure energy tanks are reported to. But, pe has good customer service from what I hear, and most time I hear that the repairs are usually very very low cost. But I dont own a PE, so cant say that firsthand.

Crossfire has a really good reputation, but again I cant say that first hand either, cause mine hasnt gotten here yet.

Carleton has a really good tank. two friends of mine use them, and havent seen them have any probs with them, aside from the usual cutting or pinching of 0-rings (which is common).
