I saw in an article that the old boards have a red colored led low battery light....and the x board had a white one that glows red ....
Is this true....
it also said any hopper made after august 2001 will have them already....
I am asking this as I just got a 12v rev and they gave me an X-board with it.....the new board had "x board" on the back ....the one in it didn't.....but they looked exactly the same....and both had clear leds....
are they both x boards?......

yeah, you are right, xboards have a white led that glows red, and older boards have a red led. For the polycarbonate body (did you ask about that?) you might noticec it is easyer to see through, with a darker color, not as milky white
Kinda funny Im answering questions about them, but I dont have one yet (Buying as soon as my store gets one in)

oh,m sorry for not telling you if it was an xboard. try dropping paint frm the opper, while it is on, ino a pod or box. If there is a delay, and it feeds a couple blass, then there s a space, then a ball, and not so with the other board, the one having space is not xboard. Supposedly after August 2001 all them have xboards, but the serial # on guns vary, it seems there is no automatic chop off point, just when they run out of old parts

another way to tell if it is an x board is to look into the bottom (or top, i should say) of the battery door, where the metal prongs are. It will say "x-board" Make sure if you buy just the chip to get it for $15. A lot of places try to sell it for 20-25$. There is a noticable difference in the feeding between the Xboard and the old boards. they're great, but i still out shoot it!
