The only fronts/backs that are compatible are fronts/backs from the same company, but there are some exceptions. A 2 Piece barrel is not necessary, but most high end barrels are 2 Piece barrels. What is your price range, and what kind of marker do you have?

One thing that I like about the 2 piece barrels if you have more than one marker with different threads is that you can buy 1 tip and 2 ends, one for each marker. That way you essentially have 2 good barrels for the price of 1.5.

i say try to get a macdev matchstik, a redz peperstick (if they make those 2 barrels in tippman, i dont think so). i would try the freak jr (its a freak made for spyders and tippmans, so well its a freak. yeah its good). J&J edge kit of you can get one in tippmann (great barrel. i have one for my impy and love it), custom products 2 peice with 2 extra backs (3 total. great barrel.) those are all good barrels. you could try an empire but i dont know to much about those.
