ok, its gonna be a week or two before I can check for any results from mods or anything, but I wanted to go ahead and ask before I forget about it.

Ok, when my TES fires, it seems like there is a Lot of gas that gets shot out from the back of the bolt; excessive blowback. I was wondering if there were any mods that would make this less of an issue (I'm thinking its cause the bolt isnt fitting so great in the chamber) or a bolt that has less of a problem with this.

this is the bolt that I am using http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47236&item=7120636413

cool, I'm glad that you got your's fixed :)

mine isnt actually leaking. it just shoots a lot more gas out around the bolt, when I fire. And mine doesnt have o-rings.

i would say that the bolt is just slightly undersized and when you shoot some of the air escapes through the gap between the bolt and the inside of the gun.

Empire- I posted a link to the bolt that I have/am using. Its an aftermarket delrin bolt made for the TES. and it doesnt have o-rings.

Airborne- yeah, I am thinking thats the problem too. If I take the barrel off, and look up thru there with it held up to the light, I can see a lot of light, around the bolt. So its not a very close fit. Not enogh that it leaks when its not being shot, but gives a lot of blowback, when it is shot.

I'm thinking about having it put on a lathe (sp?) and having it cut for a pair of o-rings. whatcha guys think?

i have the acp bolt in my odyssey torid x. i had to put o-rings in it to keep it from doing that. my dad cut slots in the delrin bolt around the air hole in the bolt and put o-rings in the slots. works quite well. i used to not be able to get velcitys over like 220-230 fps. i put those o-rings in and it was right at 270-280.

cool! thanks for the input! I dont suppose you'd be able to supply pics of where you guys put in the o-rings, would you? (hope that isnt asking for a lot)

edit- or what size o-rings you used?

i used the stock size o-rings. the o-rings off of the stock bolt. i might be able to get pics, but it won't be until tonight.

the o-rings off the stock bolt, gotcha ;)

actually, it would prolly just be easier for you to measure how far away from the hole he put them in. I didnt think about that, till just now.

thanks again, really appreciate it
