O Boy another sniperish question. Well a debate on this could last forever. So you want to "sniper" out your tippmann huh. Well to me its a pretty big waste of $$$. Im guessing your plan was to put on a flatline and stock and remote. But for all that money you could save up a bit more and get used cocker or something similar. The flatline has to be installed correctly otherwise its a piece of junk imo. Also the other problem i have with a flatline(speically when on a 98c) that its a pain to squegee. The stock although may look cool just adds wieght. As far as a remote goes well..ive never used one so im not going to past judgement. SO overall dont get a "sniper" style Tippmann save up and get something else whether it be different upgrades or a used cocker. well thats my:twocents:.

If you want a tippmann 98c, don't by the sniper. There's nothing that makes it perform better than the base 98c. Just by the regular 98c. The sniper is just a waste of money. It's made to look cool.

The Tippmann 98c sniper package is not worth the money. Most places sell that package for around $390. For that much money you can get a much nicer marker. How much money do you want to spend total? If you really have your heart set on a M98 you would be much better off buying a 98c and an aftermarket barrel. That would be about half the cost and would perform just as well. Finally the Flatline is a love it or hate it barrel, I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you have shot one before and are positive you want it. They can be a pain to set up correctly and are picky on what paint they shoot well, and are sensitive to weather conditions.

SNIPERS ARE USELESS!! ok, first of all your firing a ball, its not the most accurate thing in the world, so it kind of limits accuracy, even if u have the best barrel ever, plus a spyder imagine with a 14 inch freak will be a lot more accurate, for a little less
get a spyder if you plan to do more speedball, a tippman if u play woods/scenario games
but serieously, there is no such thing as a sniper in paintball

if you actually want to play and get a thrill of it get a gun and dont try to snipe. Go after them. Dont be afraid to get close.

it looks cool for outlaw/woodsball, but it is expencive as hell. Trust me, for a 1st marker, dont do it. the plain 98 will be just fine until you play enough to decide how you like playing. Even then, I suggest a barrel such as a lapco bigshot 8" before a flatline. There are many better barrels even.
The only advantage to a flatline is when playing in a woodland area where there is a very low ceiling, and you can't arc your shots very far. Only then does the flatline have any advantage in range.

Take the $390 and buy something nice. You can get a decent gun. Also remember that by getting that "sniper" package, you are limiting yourself to woodsball. You may want to try speedball later on... keep that in mind :D

I have played both paintball and airsoft and tried the whole sniper deal. Its ***, its boring, and since a ball doesnt have a very very straight flight pattern like a bullet your range and accuracy is so limited that your nto far enough away to protect yourself. Also it gets kinda boring waiting around on your belly.

It's possible to play a "sniper" in a scenario game, but as everyone else says: the "Sniper" package is really more for cosmetics than anything else.
