New to imp

How do i remove the bolt. I know i out the pin out of the top but does it need to be in any position....like all the way forward or back? Please explain. I kow it probably really simple but oh well.

to remove the bolt i pull the bolt all the way back then pull the pin out. Then while putting it back in you just slide the bolt back in with the big hold facing down. Then while the bolt is in the back position again, just inset the pin back in.
