It's cocked and i've tried increasing and decreasing the velocity. I need to fix it fast.

cock the gun before putting in your air source?

Cocked it, tried oil in the asa and shot it about 50 times. The gray o-ring in the back was loose but it's not connected to anything. I pushed it back onto what I think is called a bumper and it looks just like it does on the 2 other brand new Tippmans I bought, so I don't think that's the problem.

The Tippmann site sais it's most likely bad valve internals. I can't win. I buy 3 brand new Tippmans thinking I won't have any problems that way, and I drive 3 hours to visit relatives and to play paintball and my weekend is wasted. Does anybody make a damm decent product these days, you know, the kind that actually works at least the first time you use it?

This is not common for tippmanns, they are one of the most reliable paintball guns out their.

Sounds like either something is stuck in the valve or a valve oring is bad. I would go ahead and play with it if it is a slow leak, at least that way the day wouldn't be ruined and its possible that it may quit leaking while you play.

If air is comming out of the barrel then you have too strong of a spring. I reciently replaced my spring and it did the same, the spring is pushing too hard on the bolt which is opening the pin valve a little bit, allowing air to escape. Just play with it and as the spring loses tension it shouldn't leak anymore.

on your way to the trip just pick up a brass eagle blade they are only like 20$ bucks. you could still play with your relatives.

Everything should work the first time it's used. If I wanted a broken gun I would've saved myself some money and bought a used one.
I bought a paintball gun to shoot paintballs, not to sit on my *** and tear apart the gun just to put it back together.
Any how. The valve had to much glue or whatever they use on the valves when putting them together. It dripped into the valve and hardened up. The guy said about 1 out of 200 are like that. Oh well, **** happens I guess. It'll be fixed by tomorrow.

At least the odds are better than on computer hardware. I've had to send back 3 motherboards, 2 harddrives and a stick of ram in the past 5 years. I'd say my odds of recieving crap comp components have been about 1 out of 10. Eventually even the best QC lets a subpar item onto the marker, it just sucks when you happen to be the one to buy it.

True but these guns are awesome. Even if you got a bad one I'm pretty sure Tippmann will take care of the problem. They ar egood about their customer service.

your sig is long, and annoying. Impulses are not thousands of dollars. And nobody spends thousands of dollars on upgrades either. Infact, ups for high end guns dont cost much more than an upgrade for a tippy. Just thought Id point that out even though a bit OT.
anyway, tippmanns are very reliable, but they are not immune from quality problems. When I got my tippmann, the very first thing I did, was put 3 drops of oil in the ASA, take the barrel off, and shoot it about 20 times. Thats the very first time it was gassed up.

Just got it back today. They replaced the valve. Now to see how all 3 shoot. I'll post up on that in a few days. Thanks.

its the internal valve assembly. call the tippmann plant , give them your serial # and they will send you a new one for free.

I might buy a used Piranha for a back up. They're cheaper than dirt and I can fix anything that can go wrong with it, which is usally a lot, lol.

Sorry Yak, I thought that by using a little "hyperbole" (learned that in school today) I could stress my point, but I do know some people that do spend thousands of dollars on upgrades.
Anyway, I think you should have fixed it yourself, but I know when I first got my Tippmann I was scared to take it apart but now it comes second nature. Hope everything works well for you.

i agrea. the first time u take it apart can be a little nerve racking just cause u dont want to break it. if u do take it apart and the frnt sight spring comes out, out it on and hold down the front site a little then put the case on. thats what works for me when it comes out

if your talking about the hopper feeding multiple balls at a time, then you are missing a piece called a ball latch. They come apart without you noticeing when you take the gun apart sometimes. Buy another one at your local paintball store for $2.
