what psi do u run your Palmer at. i run mine at 500-475 its (its hard to tell on the gauge). i keep taking my to my local shop i tell him to crono my gun and not touch the reg cause it comes set at 500 and the dumb butt fiddles with it and i my gun is sucking up gas so i got the gauge hooked it up and set it back to as close to 500 as i could. i took it back to told the kid to not touch the reg and see what its shooting at 500 psi. the dumb butt fiddles agian and says its good where i have it and he set it at 500 i get home and it back at over 600 (gauge doesn;t go any higher.) so i set it back to 500 and will not take it back to that place. so what do u think my gun will crone at like 280-300 fps

get ur own crono and do it ur self if u don't like the way he does it.

i dont even know what psi my reg is running at...

when i see that the fps is stable, and im getting decent fluctuations, then im set.

I don't even know what gun you have . . . .

you are going to need to give us a little more information.

what you are asking is for the speed of an unknown car traveling in 3rd gear at 3200 rpm, we cant do anything!

if your tippmann is relatively stock, setting your reg that low will make it function extremely inefficently and your velocity will be low.

i got a 98c and a stiffi and thats all i did to my gun. when i had them crono it the first time (with a regulator on) i was getting like 200 shoots to a 12oz c02 and thats with anti syphin. and i figured something was not rite. also i couldn;t shoot a straight ball, every ball was curving left or right so i figured it was running at way to high psi. i got the gauge but it on set it at 475 psi it was shooting alot better the pb store had it set over 600. but i was wonder what psi u guys us on your palmer

that would be a tank fill problem. the reg will not eat your co2. it simply adjusts pressure.

I take it you have the Low Pressure kit. I have the same reg and I run it about 250-350 psi. I suppose this is a custom 98, if not then disregard everything I just said cuz I know nothing about A-5's. Didn't you read the directions with the LP Kit and Stabalizer?:paperbag:

no i have a 98c and no low pressure kit just the regulator and a new barrel nothing else. i have my psi at 475 and it seems to shoot good. when i take it to get it cronoed they set it above 600 psi and the balls don't shoot straight. but they do shoot alot better at 475 psi i jsut don;t know what fps it is shooting at.

475 psi... i dont think the gun will be at playable FPS.

maybe enough to recock the gun... have u shot paint with it yeT?

a stock tippmann running at 475 will not function at any sort of normal velocity. dont try to run your tippmann at lower pressures w/o a LP kit, its definately not worth it and regardless of what you have read, tippmanns like high pressure! they were designed around it. give it the gas it needs.

ok i guess i let the pb shop do their thing. i read a review on the Palmer so kid said he was running 515psi and shooting 310 fps. that's what i based my theory on

o ya i forgot when i had the pressure at like 475psi i was shooting at a tree about 1ft wide and about 150 feet away and i was hitting it about 4 out of 5 times then when the pb shop cronoed it was shooting all over the place. should i just bump the pressure up to say a nice even 600psi or maybe 550. what do u guys run yours at?

The pressures we used to reccomend were between 600 and 800psi. You need to go to a field with a chrono and fiddle with it there.

Here's the best way to do it. With the marker degassed look down the power tube. See that screw? That's the velocity screw. Turn it out until it is flush with the side of the powertube. With the reg turned down gas the marker and fire a few shots over the chrono, raise the pressure in set intervals until you are over the 300fps. Then turn back to the last setting before you went over 300. Then continue to adjust in smaller and smaller intervals until you are within the velocity range that you want. Between 280 and 290 will be good for CO2 use.
