well my opinion on it is that it wont be out for a good while now and i really don't think it is something to look foward to because if it replaces the impulse they might not make dramatic performance changes just probably the body style (my own opinion)

i look foward to tpds gun but that's me

I think CAD diagrams are coming out on Friday, not the gun itself.

from the very little i've heard about it, it sounds like a very low budget gun, though it will still be a steal at around 300$. I am going to be very interested to see what their new variation on the spool valve design is... anyways, i like competition ;)

Yes, hense the $300 pricetag on the new gun. It's not meant to be top of the line or anything close until you put money into it.

Does it have the potential to out perform a shocker when upgraded or is it meant to be SP's lower end marker?

I read on PBN that it was a pump...

here is some info i got from rich at punisherspb.com

Ok here is some info since your all going nutz! The new guns....yes I said new gun....will be shipped out Friday from our store if you get orders in early enough. I’m going to give you my thoughts on this. I have seen it and have shot it several times now. I can’t tell you anything about its looks or functions until tomorrow because we were asked not to. Yes I said tomorrow which is Thursday! SP plans on releasing it on Friday but we can pre-release it on Thursday. There are people leaking things out so I figured id give you guys a little info. I will sometime tomorrow afternoon have the guns up on the site for preorder. From what I’m told we will have black available on Friday and we should have the other 3 colors (red/black blue/black and yellow/black) early next week. My personal favorite is the yellow black! Now for a little sneak peak about the gun. No it will not replace the shocker! The shocker is a great gun and it has different things to offer. The new gun being so cheap will probably affect impulse sales along with every other gun in its price range. We will be selling it for $284.99 and they will sell out fast! At that price anyone can afford one and almost everyone will buy one just to see how it performs. I guarantee you there is nothing on the market like it and its well worth $285. I cant give you any info on specs until tomorrow but i can tell you i shot it and was so impressed my store team will be using them all season. I myself will probably use one off and on throughout the season as well, I will more than likely shot one in LA.
Well I have given more info that I should have but I wanted to answer some of your question. Stay posted for tomorrow release sometime late afternoon. They will be on the site for ordering immediately!

so tomorrow go to punisherspb.com and they will have info on it there

SP has unleased their secret weapon. sombody finnally made something that performed as good that practically everyone can afford. this is seriously going to cripple otehr companies. i mean i knew it was going to happen. look at hte shocker. it is a tube, but a smaller tube inside, and a delrin bolt in the middle. yeah you got a solinoid and a baord and some other things, but does all that stuff really cost 700 to make? heck no. make a high end gun, forget all the bob long milling and sell it for 285 bucks (what the ppl at punusherpb are selling it for).

It is very true that the majority of current paintball equipment prices are just markup. Nerve doesn't cost hardley anything more to produce than the Shocker SFT does. Sure there were a number of machining tools that had to be made beforehand but the cost is justified.
It's no secret, Shockers and Nerves (and other markers) are individually about $100-150 to produce. Most of this is cost for anodizing, solenoids, and CNC repair. Material cost is almost nothing.

SP has to make money on their product so they sell it to retailers for factory wholesale. Retailers have to make money on it so they increase the price by the same amount. Then you end up with the MSRP, and that's what you pay.
Nerve simply wasn't selling at all when it was $1200, so SP droppped the price. You wouldn't believe how good it is selling now just becuase of that $200 difference.
Exactly how much money you make on something is chosen only by the company and its competitors. The reason the Nerve costs as much as it does is becuase of the competition, put simply.

Personally I would rather have some blowbacks compared to the stock Impulse, it's no secret that they aren't the greatest stock. The deal with the Ion is that it is designed to change that, at least for the low-end market. There's always been that major recreational market which SP has only gotten into with barrels and drop forwards. Now it's time for a marker too. Sell that upgraded Tippmann and buy this instead, and receive a significant performance increase.

The deal is, the distrubter (SP) and retailers will make money on this simply becuase of volume. I'm not allowed to state the numbers but SP is planning on moving an absolute TON of these guns.
I've already talked several local shops into becomming SP retailers simply becuase of this one marker alone. It staggers the mind.
