We have a big (always 15+ folks) woods game every other sunday and this coming sunday 1/13 is the next one. Drop me a line if you want to come and play with us. For that matter, anyone who wants to play is welcome. We drag at least 2 new people every damn game into it, and at least one them shows back up with his (or her) new gun the next go around.

Yes, Miami here, as well....and, looking to find :
a) a decent field for anything besides hyper or speedball i.e. WOODS
b) some experienced players, to form a team...for tourney play.

Have been out for a few years, but, began playing in 88...spent 4 yrs as capt of the navy's pb team, in Orlando...<damn, I miss those fields>, and, have played throughout the US....

just spent some $$$ on a new semi, gear, etc..yet, have no one to break balls with, or, on...

And, though it is a way to pass the time, playing speedball on a 70 x 50 yd field at Boomers just doesn't cut it....:cool:

hey i live in miami too. skyshroud, i play for team lay-lo right now, but i know a guy who is opening up a field and a 3-man league by the summer and if u wanna meet up and start a team, im up to it.

btw, dont go to boomers. its terrible. i play at ruff-n-tuff. try going there, its pretty good, just quite expensive for paint, but you can always sneak it in. also, go out on sunday. thats when all the pro teams come out for practice.

Tried to go to r&t last weekend....but, couldn't get a specific address...and, after spending hours merely hunting for a field, was finally watching the daylight fade, and went to our local version of 'Wally World'.
I did speak for some time with someone from the West Palm/Boynton area, however, who mentioned midnight games, on the weekend of every full moon...however, not recently, and, their field is closed, until they receive a sufficient # of reservations.
Bottom line....how do I hook up with everyone who's playing?

and, yes, barring any unforseen difficulties, I'm more than ready to roll by this summer....

I'm in Miami a few weekends a month.. Let me know if anyone here gets together to play in the area or up to 1 1/2 hours away.
I've used to play a few years ago and just started up again.. getting a GX3 within the next few weeks.

Also, if anyone knows any good fields in the SO FLA area.. please let me know.

Looking for an all day type of field not the crappy places that allow you to play for 2-3 hours before you pay again..

I've been to Mike's Paintball in the West Palm Beach area.. http://www.mikespaintball.com. It's a great place if you like speedball.. several fields.. no carry on paint allowed. NO WOODS.

I also used to play a lot and am just starting to get serious about paintball again. I would love to join a team. I sold my old automag and should be getting my ans within a week or two. I;ll probably be playing at R&T this Sunday.

Well.....will be the weekend of the 22nd, before I can run out and play again.

Spent this weekend playing at a relatively new, yet, surprisingly decent, little field in Ft. Pierce. Hyper and speedball, as well as several woods fields, under development. Cost was a bit high, but, Suzy's place was a nice find while sitting in BFE Ft. Pierce.

If any of you locals....in the Miami area, that is, are even contemplating forming a team, just meeting some other players in this area, etc..and, you have plans to be out shooting, in a couple of weeks time, then, let's coordinate something.

Any suggestions?

Well, people..it seems like there are quite a few of us in the area, and, like several of you wish to form teams...however, when it comes right down to specifics, no one seems to be willing to commit to anything.

I am willing to spend next weekend practicing, playing, etc...at any of the major fields in this area...and, even willing to make the drive to Florida City, from Davie, if it is worthwhile.

So...if anyone is SERIOUS about forming a team...then, shoot me a message, or, merely reply here...

Perhaps we can coordinate something, though, the tournament on the 24th is most likely out...

Such is life, eh?

Completely understood, Silk..though, at the time of your last post here, I was under the impression that you were still trying to form a team, with your buddy, that is/was opening a field.

Regardless, though the field pretty much sucks, there is a tournament at the Boomers location in Davie...Speedball/Hyperball, with their lil inflatable obstacles, of course...might not be the greatest of venues, however, for a newly forming team, might be just the thing to step into, to start getting your feet wet.

I'm not sure of any more specs, just happened to see a sign posted, and, I know that it referred people to their store, which is somewhere on Davie Blvd. More than that, I do not know...~shrugs~

anyway, i was saying that when the field opens up, which will be sometime in the summer, i would like to join the league and start a seperate team. sorry for the confusion. if ur interested in playin, pm me so we can set up a time to go play.

also, ive played tournaments, and i really wouldnt suggest playin in ANY boomers tournaments, regardless if ur a newbie or a pro. the field is terrible and the paint is $30 crap paint that he marks up to $80. but thats just me. thanks for the info tho

Yea Im very serious about starting a team. We already have a 3-man team and are looking to expand to a 5-man. I work on weekends so its hard for me to go play. I will have to let you know when we go practice so we can meet up. We will probably meet somewhere in between Miami and Davie so you dont have to drive all the way down here. Do you know of any good airball fields up there by either Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach? We usually go to Strike Force but it sucks cause the Airball field isnt that good and paint is very expensive for its quality.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any fields between here <Davie>, and Miami....though, in all reality, I'm not adverse to driving.
Understand that I am still getting myself used to the idea of speedball and hyperball, since I am coming from a solid woods background. Hard to find any woods fields, anymore, though.
My schedule is the standard 8:30 - 5 weekdays, and, typically, every other weekend with my little one. That leaves evenings, and, assorted weekends free...and, it's pretty flexible.
Saturday and Sunday, the 23rd and 24th, I will be playing somewhere....just up in the air as far as the specifics. SOOOooooo.......

Any suggestions?

I dont know. I will look at my calendar and be sure to give you a list of days (weekends) that the team can go practice and will let you decide when you can go. We play strictly airball or sometimes speedball so we are kinda looking for someone that has atleast a little experience. W/B

I sincerely hope you don't take this the wrong way...but...after 13 years worth of playing paintball, if I am not capable of switching to a different venue, I should turn the marker towards my facemask, and, pull the trigger...repeatedly.

Realistically, we'd have to see if there is a fit..a synergy..meshing...whatever you wish to call it..prior to even seriously contemplating forming a 5 man team. In order to determine that, we need to simply play a few games together. If it turns out that I am not capable, experienced, or, able to fall into place readily enough, then, so be it. I sort of shoot from the hip, and, would expect the same in return.
Something like...'Dude...you really suck' usually gets the point across. ;)

But, you never know...perhaps we will all sort of click, and, will be able to work together, fluidly, as a unit...if so, that is the rare thing that separates a group of players into a tournament level team of winners.

And, bottom line...I am either going to try out, endlessly, until I find an existing team that I fit with...or, I am merely going to form my own. So, I am willing to give it a shot...let me know what your schedule is, and, a bit about your other 2 members...

My JT is doing great. I had the normal issue with shooting at 175 fps, but I just needed to put in the other spring that came with it. And thanx for the info on Orlando, I'm planning on coming down to play, the end of March.

I live in Inverness, Florida. Its 75 minutes North of Tampa, and 75 minutes West of Orlando. I play in Ocala at Wayne's World of Paintball. Its the best place on earth. And I have also been to Destin, and my brother owns a house in Tallahassee. Actually he is on his way home right now, he left about 15 minutes ago. lol

Although it seems that several of you were supposed to be at R&T 2 weekends ago...I never encountered a single one of you. Then again, maybe we were teammates/opponents, without even realizing it...

I'll be back on Sunday, all day...and, possibly, on saturday morning, as well. More than likely, I'll start at the woods field, and, move over to the speedball, as the day progresses.

If anyone from here is going to be there...find me...probably the only person on the field with an excellerator.

Unfortunately, no, I won't be in Orlando. Too much of a trip from Lauderdale, though, I sincerely love that field, and, will make plans to hit it at some point over the summer.

I'll be spending both Saturday and Sunday back at R & T.

Who knows..maybe I'll actually stumble across Silk there, this time...lol

Well this is like a very rare thing for me because I live in Wisconsin, but conditions aren't right to play up here yet. Then I can come back and brag that I got to play, and I got to play on a really good field.

Well, in my opinion...as long as you are playing at the field in Kissimmee...the real deal...then, you are playing at one of the best fields in the world.
I learned how to play paintball on that field, in late 88....when I was in the Navy, we used to have inter-force squad combats there...Army vs Navy, Seals vs Everyone, Rangers, etc, etc, etc.

The prices were incredible, the swamp area, and HUGE fields made for endless scenarios, and the investment in creating new fortresses, bunkrs, etc, was obvious, and, killer.

I haven't been there since about 92...maybe 93...but, you should have a hell of a time, irrespective of any possible changes toward hyper or speedball setups.
Good luck...shoot lots of people, and, go back to Wisconsin with a minimal number of welts.

well, you cant forget that davie is a big place. really big. anyway, skyshroud, the field i told you about before, i dont think its gonna get up. doesnt look like the guy is up to it anymore. damn. but ive also been hearing rumors that there will be another paintball field put up somewhere around here. not sure exactly where though. ill let you guys know when i get more info.

I played at Orlando and it was great. All the guys that brought their own guns and had obviously played before had our own game goin and we had like 5v5 at one point. They did some good themes in the warehouses too. It was dark and there wasn't much light on it, but the hyperball field was fun.

Contemplating hitting Mike's next Sunday. However, the last time I spoke to the guys there, they mentioned that the field only opens if there are a certain number of reservations from private parties, ahead of time. I hate to make the trip from Miami, to find the field closed.
Any suggestions?
