with the release of the ion i cant help but wonder how much of a bite this will take from bushmaster because the bko was the cheapest tourney marker but with the ion what is gonna happen?

But I can say that there is a group of those who despise Smarts Parts and would Support Brass eagle before them. Then again there are the millions of Noobs and future players who just get what looks cool for a cheap price. So we will see later on.

If ICD would sponsor some major teams, and have them only use their markers, and put out as many adds as SP sure the sales would go through the roof. But they don't. Its sad that this is hopw the world is, but thats the way it goes.

let the performance speak for itself. ICD barely puts out any advertisments and still makes a killing, while sp saturates the world with hype. Only time will tell how good the ION is but I'm making a prediction that within 3 or 4 months the F/S/T forum will be seeing alot of ION's.

Think of the problem guns that smarts parts has had. Usually their first few batches of the guns are full of bugs that really turn people away from the gun. Im highly doubting that any of the new 2005 ICD line will have any bugs. Because they are not a HUGE company like smart parts, they have more time to test their markers and then produce them, while smart parts is trying to get ahead of the game, and they know that the 2005 BKO is gonna be kickin their behinds when it comes out if they hadnt released the ION, and I think that its still gonna happen. And as you said about choosing BE over SP, you got dat right, Id shoot a Blade in a tourny before I shoot a Shocker.

well, back in the day, ICD used to make some really high quality guns. The alley cat, Thundercat, desert fox, etc... Those guns are now gone, but people who I play with envy me with my t-cat, because it's NEVER broken down on me, and is so simple to use. Even friends with autocockers can say "yeah, that's keith, and look at his cool gun."

ICD has got me hooked on their guns. And, depending on how well they continue their legacy of quality guns, they will continue to do ok in the paintball market.

i seriously hate SP, but out local shop has everyone around here hooked on SP, and everyone is getting one either as a backup or as a first use marker, i tell them bko's are way better but their all, well it's sp so you know it's good, i'm like, no, their stuff sucks when it first comes out, bko's have been there for a long time and kick ***, but no one cares cuz the shop has everyone minds washed

sp dosent suck they make good quality markers with the exception of the ion which sux cuz it made um discontinue the impulse and how would you know bkos are better you dont even have one and you have a smart parts barrel.

Have you ever shot a shocker right out of the box? It doesnt shoot to well. Not without some tinkering and ups, whereas a ICD gun shoots like a dream out of the box.

Right now I'd take the 05 BKO over the ION, simply because I know it would reliable, where as the ION was kept a secret and there still is a crap load of hype, but no one really knows how it will perform. Plus there really won't be any really good ups for the ION right now.

Smart Parts really has no chance against the BKO. The bko has just been out for to long and is more realiable because of how long it has been out. The new ion isnt gonna be that popular. Its gonna have problems, probably many like the shocker did. Indian Creek designs is gonna put smart parts were they belong, 6 feet under!!

i kno my opinion is biased considering i have an 04 bko... but i would still take an 05 bko over an ion. The Bko already has good ups for it whereas the ion will take some time before any ups will come out for it. ....and i dunno about u guys but i think the ion is pretty ugly.

ok, heres how i see it. Noobs like me a couple years ago would go for a cheap smart parts gun in an instant just because of the smart parts name. So i highly doubt icd is going to easily put sp "six feet under" I myself hate sp and have never bought a single product from them since the lawsuits. But if i owned icd i would be doing the exact same thing as smart parts. MARKETING FOR CHRIST SAKE! thats how you make money is by MARKETING! Example: I want an icd t-shirt, but i have nver once seen one at any local shops. I have seen hundreds of sp ones. Its no wonder sp is making the big bucks.

I think ICD should put more pictures in magazines, and make some movies and sponser some NPPL teams(pro-cuz it's on FSN)..i hope ICD can show off their quality markers.

i personally think that the ion is ugly and many ppl at my school think it's ugly also. the only reason i have a progressive barrel cuz it' was $30 other wise i would have bought a better barrell. I ho0pe ICD can do more marketing,...
