View Full Version : trouble matching paint with barrel need help

i have a tippmann 98 custom and i got a smart parts progressive barrel and i am having a lot of trouble finding paint to match up with the barrel. i got some nelson hot spot and maybe 1 in 10 would match. i have tried zap,marbalizer,scorch and a few other balls that they had at the paintball store and they all roll out the barrel. if anyone could tell me what will match up with this barrel plz lemme know.

Your barrel's bore size is .689, and you would want a paintball with the same. Here's the ball bore chart (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=179374), so pick whichever paint you like the best that has the same size. I would recommend Draxxus Blaze.

ok, I have a smart parts teardrop barrel, is the bore size still the same on the progressive?

No tear drop is different. It is kind of big so you can put in inserts that are only an inche long. For paint I recomend white box they work good for around .687 bore sizes.

What the hell are you talking about?
You can't put any form of insert into a teardrop.

I have a teardrop, its about a .689 bore, but im not really conerned all too much with matching paint up because paint to bore size is almost all hype.

Just use Zap or Draxxus paint, its a pretty standard bore size and works great.

ummm, you might be able to put inserts in some different type of teardrop but not mine....

isnt .689 the same bore size as the stock tippmann barrel?

I still use my stock Tippmann barrel, and I use .689 paint and it works fine.
