Please use to learn to walk the trigger other than ramping. Lately I have been hearing stories about people getting hurt really bad with ramping boards and chips. You only need to hit a player once to get him out. If you pull the trigger 3 times with a ramping chip thats 6-8 shots or more depending on how you set it up, and that could seriously hurt someone that could get into the media and cause abunch of stuff....
So please learn to walk not cheat by ramp.

Ramping is going to take over. They have a ramping chip out for SPYDERS. get used to it. your not going to change peoples minds over the internet.

6-8 shots won't hurt someone unless it's in a spot like the back of the head or on top of the head, maybe the neck aswell. In places like your body it might hurt a bit but not dangerous, bounce is far more dangerous then ramp. Also for bounce you don't need some chip you just need the right settings on your gun.

Neck, back, and head are the parts I am talking about...

I bunkered this kid (i forget why were playing the walkons) using my friend's DM4 which bounced/ramped like a mofo. He got lit up, and then his head exploded.
Ramping is bad.

It only going to get worse.
The NXL is allowing full-auto, and PSP is now allowing ramping chips.
Paintball as we know it is on a slippery slope, and it's only going downhill faster.
I find this all kind of retarded and funny. Paintballs, (most of us, anywhy), will argue for how safe paintball is. How it is statistically safer than golf and bowling. And now every gun, from the $1500 Timmy to the lower end Spyders are shooting so fast that safety is being compromised.
I love paintball, but it is going downhill fast, and not even trying to stop.

And I just got my Frenzy 127 board in the mail today. This board has all the same features. Mind you, while the full auto and ramp modes are fast, they also quit as soon as you release the trigger. As long as the players have some level of control I doubt anyone is going to get seriously or permanently hurt.

You guys over react, the NXL is the only league taking risks. All the others with ramp-allowing rules (PSP, CFOA) also require the gun to stop when you want it to, there for unless you are purposely maliciously overshooting (which results in penalty) your gun will stop when you want it to.
Besides, now that players dont have to worry about shooting fast enough for thier lanes, they're left to concentrateo on other things, like orchestrating sick plays etc.

A kid got shot 12 times in the mask and got a concussion...Ramping is not safe...It was in the news online, but I don't remember where the source was.
Yeah, it was LaSoya who did it, I believe.
Forget who the kid was.
Do I like ramping? No. I can shoot too fast as it is. But if others want to use it, fine with me. I'll still win.

That was bounce, his gun went runaway on him. The ramp that is legalized now stops when you stop pulling the trigger.
And wasnt that bob long who got his head lit up?

Simply put, nobody was following the old rules anyway. Instead of constantly trying to keep up and enforce the rules, they just changed them. People (rec and tourny alike) have been bouncing and ramping well past 15bps for years and we have had very few issues.
The only real problem I see is the new or immature player that doesn't know how to control themselves. However, they could still do it before, just not as cheap.

Ramping...
One day, a noob is mad at me b/c I bunker his ***. So he grabs his ion and puts it on ramping and he runs all the way down the field shooting out of control. He tries to find me, but he can't so he takes his under out on a 10 year old girl who was hiding behind a bunker...In three seconds, there were 51 balls flying at her and the ref had to tackle the noob to keep the noob from blasting her to hell with his ramping.
This is fictional, but I can see it happening...Just think about the little girl.

No He does'nt because if He did, I would have 2 guns both with ramp, and shoot them all day long. I hate cats. They give me allergies.
I really don't have anything against ramping but please if you have it learn to control it. Do lots of practice runs with bunkering with it so you can learn.

Well, if some kid gets a hold of one of those, at least it'll chop every shot before he can "hurt" anyone.

It won't turn on/off on the fly so only someone stupid would use it in a tourny.

Im gonna kill god if he kills kittens because of that. I dont think ramping is a problem. Its the people that use it that have problems.

Guns aren't the problem. It's the people using the guns are the problem. ;) :D

That may sound a bit hokey...but it's the truth. I know better than to light up someone on a run through but a hyperactive 14 year old may very well do just that. How many kids have we seen with reactive triggers on their Tippmans that do just that playing woodsball or whatnot. Bottom line is that it's all about how the marker is used and not the capability it provides.

After praticing with ramping, it appeared to be surpisingly slower than normal. But regardless, I am still going to use it, because everyone is.

Haha, a ramping spyder. That's a funny thought. I wanna get the upgrade for my frenzy so i can ramp. Ramping is fun for just dicking around in the backyard, you know?
