cant stick squeegee down barrel!

i was cleanin out my barrel today for the first time and went to stick my squeegee down my progressive barrel and it wouldnt go. after i forced the bugger down all this crap was in my barrel from the squeegee head. wtf is up with this? its also a new squeegee so does this mean i have to work in my squeegee? i got one of those battle swabs but they dont get the job done all the time. anyone know more than me on this topic?

My strait shot did that. The disk comes big so if you have a large bore it wont be to small. After the first few times it might be hard because it getting broke in.
