View Full Version : New bushy?
Wondering about a new bushy. Is it worth the money? Is it low pressure? And what kind of threads do the barrels take? I sound like a n00b but just a n00b to the bushys ;) Also are they reliable? Thank you!!!

i think the newest ones that are going to be coming out have a blade trigger and 2 peice barrel with the new 2002 style milling. i think bushies are very reliable guns, i have never had a problem with mine. all of the bushy came stock at a pretty low operating pressure, my gun now operates just slighty under 200 psi. . . it takes ICD threads, so it has its own threads but you can buy barrel adapters if needed. . . hope i helped, any more questions, let us know . . .
thanks for the help i really appreciate it :) would you reccommend any uprades?

maybe a barrel, dont get into to alot of upgrades and til you play with it and then buy upgrades where you want improvement and gradually. one thing i would think about if i were you is the vapor job though, i think they do great work. i dont have the URL but im sure someone else does

Upgrades? Hmm, barrel, maybe your reg if it's not consistant enough for you, but if you have the cash, a sonic frame  :agree: Changes the gun soo much. Makes the trigger silky smooth, and you can adjust tension. Get a barrel and maybe a reg first, then get a sonic if you have the money.

After a barrel I would change the trigger first. Personally I would change the reg close to last but most other people dont seem to agree.

Yah trigger will be the most important part. Make sure its tight enough that its comfortable with you. New frames are nice, but just some trigger shims will defiantly make the trigger feel better.
Although.. Don't the new bushys with blade trigger have a really tight trigger?
Forgot all the new features of the new bushys..

ive read that you cant put any regulator on a bushy? you have to get a adapter for it? is that right? I just baught a bushy and i was wondering if i could just slap a vigilante on it?

Yes you do need an adapter for it. COst's around 20 bucks. Any reg but stock and MacDev gladiator will hurt your warranty.
more questions lol! If i decide on the (which im pretty set on) would i need to run a low pressure nitro tank off it? and can anyone tell me waht the stock barrel is like?(length, bore, accuracy) thank you all so much :D

The stock barrels are made of lead.... Not really, but the are chunky aluminum. They are medium bore, and 12 inches. Accuracy? Decent, with the right paint.
thank you! so i can run i high pressure tank? crossfire 88/4500 ? and does anyone have that vapor mod site? i lost it in all my papers! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! w00t!

Bleh, i don't like cross fire, or big tanks. SO i'd go with either a PMI or a centerflag tank. Size is your choice. www.paintballtrader.com
im not saying for size! i know its huge thats y im lookin at a new one. Im talking about a high pressure or low pressure tank. waht one should i use on the bushy?
We have the new Bushy. Just check it out at www.tracerpaintball.com
Start stock and see what you like. Nitro a must. Nothing wrong with Crossfire and Nitro-Duck. Too much hype on PMI:D

Someone who called ICD told us they wont be out until tht end of the month.
Oh well, thats just an extra 50 bucks for a tear drop. Oh and someone above said the trigger didn't feel right and it needed shims or shivs or sumthin like that. What are they and where do I get em?

Shims is a general term. Use the plastic from a battery pack, and put a peice on either side, it reduces slack

Whats this Vapor thing people talked about in previous replies? I've got the newest Bushmaster that will be out for a while (quoting by local and knowledgeable paintball store), and it doesn't have the blade trigger or J&J 2 piece. I may be wrong though.

the blade trigger and ICD 2-piece are supposed to come out this month (according to ICD) so those will be the newest gen
VAPOR is a mod done by goldie through paintball trader.com
and from the mouths of many VAPOR customers well worth
the money, there is also a VAPOR line of products includeing the new fmd adaptor that replaces your lpr with a rock reg

I just got a new bushy. Mine came with the blade trigger but no 2 piece barrel. Also the blue is darker than the older bushys too. The trigger was really light but i swapped out the spring for a cut down cocker spring. Its sweet.

Ok the bushmaster 2002 is out. Simply because Indian creek has them advertized in APG march 2002 issue. Now here is my question insted of buying it from the factory. Is there a place on-line that has them ready for sale? :eyes:

Its hard to tell unless its specified on the site or you call them and hope they no what their talking about and wont lie to you. ICD changes the bushmasters so much you can never know what version the store has unles you see it.

I'm not sure what Bushy I have. It looks exactly like the one on the ICD website right now, and I bought it in December. Which Bushy is it?

What I've learned, (just got my bushy) is that the two piece barrel performs exactly the same as the older one if not worse.
